You walk into a convenient store and purchase a 24oz tall boy beer. Every single store here will either place the tall beer inside a brown bag or offer a brown bag. Is the brown bag common up north? Yes this is a serious thread and question.

Lol from what I heard it's to hide your drinking in public...has nothing to do with carrying it home...you can carry a beer or beers beer openly until you crack it open. Then it's drinking in public which is illegal.

I can't remember if it's MD or VA, but I've had beer/liquor stores tell me they are required to put all alcoholic purchases into a black plastic bag before I leave the store. Pretty sure it was VA.

Correct! There's a darn good thermodynamic reason for the paper: it drastically slows heat transfer from your hand to the beer.

i know in LV you can walk around with an open container in hand. no whino baggie needed :beer:
