Amazing build and she looks great already. The photoshopped picture you originally posted is damn near perfection.

More progress tonight...

I was finally able to finish stripping down and cleaning the gas tank, to prep it for a flush mount gas cap, and paint. I considered trying to take on the cap welding with my buddy...but after a lot of research, we decided it would be best to have the cap welded by a shop...we didn't feel like blowing up his house by accident

Here's a picture of the tank...the existing bung will be cut off, the cap welded flush, and then body worked flush and painted white. The side emblem slots/holes will also be shaved, and the small dents cleaned up...should look super clean when its done

Next I cut down the front fender, and I am also considering a rear fender...these will be painted gloss black before I put them on:

Lastly I worked on shaping the rear cap some more, and started laying down some fiberglass/epoxy for the seat.

No major updates yet...I dropped off the gas tank to get welded, and he said he should have it done by middle of next week.

I also layed down some fiberglass on the seat cap tonight, so I have to let that cure overnight and then I can finish glassing the rest of it, lay down some more epoxy layers, sand it, hit it with some bondo...more sanding, and hopefully it'll look pretty damn good!

I have some updates...

I picked up some new gear to go along with the vibe of the bike...new Shoei RF1200, some sick leather Grifter gloves, and a nice leather jacket I ordered online from the UK. Jacket should be here tomorrow. I also ordered a mirror and tinted lense for the helmet, that should be here tomorrow as well.

I've been working away at the seat...laying down several layers of fiberglass to get it nice and strong...once I make it to about 6-7 layers (next day or 2), I'll start sanding it smooth and lay down some Bondo. I decided to paint the tank and seat myself, so I have some Oxford white paint on the way this week.

I also finally decided on a headlight... 5-3/4" Bates style light, with a nice clear lense. I mocked it up, and it looks dead on. The old headlight was stupid huge, as you can see :lol1:

I took it apart, and wrapped the lense in yellow vinyl...and mocked it up again. I need to figure out a bracket to mount it to the lower triple tree. The stock lights use ears attached to the forks, but this bottom mount light is much cleaner

I think I am going to paint the bucket white, and leave the ring black

Next I decided to finally start messing with these ugly stock exhaust flanges. The stock ones look like flowers. You can get a set of nice black smooth ones, but they're $150 and wheres the fun in that...so I busted out the flapper and went to work:

It took some time to do...but not a big deal, I'll do the rest of them and then hit them with some high temp exhaust paint and they'll be clean:

Just a picture of the two together...I'm messing with some mach C pillars for the cobra right now, thats why the pillar is off.

Thats all for now! Hopefully the gas tank will be done this week, and I'll be able to get to work painting everything soon.

Those exhaust flanges are a lot work...that seems to be to your liking. Did you build the material between the fins before grinding them down? Unless I am seeing it wrong, based on the end result, it looks like you would have to. Nice work!!

Not too bad, and nope no filler...I just used my cutoff wheel and a flapper disk and ground them all off and smoothed it out.

Damn man, REALLY sick

Is that a Shoei RF1100? I just picked up a white RF1200 a couple weeks ago, I love it
