Thanks for that tag last night man, looks and sounds awesome! Are you adding a can to the side pipe or you going straights?
I ordered some 45 deg 2.25" pipes with 6" legs, I'm going to cut them to size to get the pipe out from under the bike. I also ordered some assorted short baffle inserts, im going to see how it sounds with the straight pipe, and then try the baffle...curious how that will change the tone. Not going to get an actual muffler...I dont like how any of the ones sound that ive heard, so custom baffles it is!

Those straight 4's sound killer with an open exhaust. My cb550 screamed going down the road (even if it was only going 60mph)

I haven't updated this thread in a while...been making slow progress (mostly fighting the wiring)...but its almost done!

I made a rough template for the seat, and went over the design with my upholstery guy...seat and grips came out perfect!

Next I moved to the exhaust...I couldn't find any pipes that I liked, so I decided to make my own. I got a 2.25" 6"x6" 45 deg piece and some baffles, and wrapped it...came out clean

Then I moved onto the brutal wiring job...I mounted everything under the seat...ran wires, made a bracket and installed my tail light, my blinkers, etc...I'll let the pics do the talking on this one...

I also wrapped my kick starter and brake lever with some heat shrink loom...looks pretty clean.

...and here's where it stands! I just need to repaint the gas tank (paint got trashed during all the work getting it running), and mount the seat. The bike runs pretty good! I've ridden it around the block a couple times, still runs a little rough but its almost done!

Thanks guys! I got it officially registered and legal today...rode it around for a while. Needs a shifter shaft seal (leaking oil), and its misfiring a bit...still needs some tuning but its fun as hell to ride!
