Will be replacing a cut w/w line in the 02 Taurus shortly. Any pros or cons with just shit canning the filthy factory hoodliner. It's coming off to repair the line. I know the entire thing doesn't need to be removed.

The L didn't come with a hoodliner, so what's the deal? Is it a SVT thing? Can't recall if the SVTF had one.

Thanks in advance:sleeping:

Took mine off last week after installing a 1/2" intake spacer, not sure if I'm gonna keep it or trash it.

So far no ill-effects whatsoever, just need to put some touch-up paint on the holes where the liner was mounted.

You don't need it. This discussion was raised countless times over the years about the 2003-2004 Cobra hood liner. A lot of Terminator owners ditched theirs. If the underside of the hood is properly finished (some Terminator hoods were not) it definitely looks better with a cover. JMO.

I took mine out after getting my cobra and it's hanging in my garage on top of a cabinet. I usually like putting random parts around to give it that garage like feel. Pretty stupid, but screw it lol.

funny thing is that if the hood blanket is suppose to supress fires, why is that every car with a hood liner still seems to burn to the ground....

i ditch all mine...

I removed mine way back in 2003.

But I saved it all these years. I live near to a Ford dealership and found the cardboard shipping box for a hoodliner in their trash. So I grabbed it and hung it from the rafters. Now I have a brand new hoodliner nice and protected in a factory Ford box. Which I will never use and don't know why the Hell I've kept it.

I'm sure there's a noob sucker out there who would give you some coin for it.

I will go against the grain and say keep it!

Years ago I had a very small fire in my 5.0 engine bay when the power steering lines and accessory lines came in contact with my headers.
The hood liner was burnt/blackened but it protected the hood and paint from any damages.
