Makes me sick how weak society has become.

We've ALL been in line at the grocery store and been behind a mother and her kid and the kid is acting up. The first thing you think is "Why doesn't she deal with the kid? That's bad parenting if you can't control your kid."

Well, that's society. People feel like they can act up like a little child and we (the mother) don't do anything. This father (the cop) whooped that kids ass and stopped her disorderly actions.

Again, you act like a fool you should get treated like one!

I think this cop should get a merit for good policing.

This just in: Svtcop punches ladies in the face for yelling at him. More at 9.

You should really stop trying to justify a punch to the face in that situation, his own CO has even admitted that it was wrong.

Sent from my phone (no "i" needed).

Dude, you really need to watch the video several times over. May have used some profanity? Guess body language has nothing to do with it or the nasty foul spit flying out of her mouth. I hope you are never ever picked to be on a jury. God help the dude.

Svtcop is not embarrassing the profession at all. From what what I have seen of his replys they are well thought out answers.
You are never taught to strike to the face/head? Come on now? Open Hand my ass! Not going to get into a bitch slapping contact and resort to pulling hair like a girl fight. You get in the ring with me it's on. First punches are going to be to your head to take you out quickly! Not a bitch slap.
    She was passive? Seriously?
The the officer use more training oh yeah I agree. He will get it to.

if somebody commits a crime where they endanger (or even hurt) people i am OK with a good bit force used by the police, but in crimes where nobody is really in danger officers need to be reprimanded.
Disorderly conduct = an elbow to the face from a good size male officer? Y'all are crazy for thinking this and if you feel it is appropriate where would one draw the line since a lot of things can be considered disorderly conduct.

"Hey guys, we got a homeless guy loitering around over here, can we get somebody to give him an elbow to the face to show that we are serious?" LOL Give me a break.

Agreed. But even living out in the rural areas we see this and hear of it often. Most of the time NO justice is done. Some think if they get away with it once then they can a second time. A friend of mine is now a WV State Trooper. Stand up guy when he is off duty. When he is on duty, everyone watches their step around him. He has been brought up on more civil suit police brutality charges than I can count. Always gets out of it and keeps on working. Tough as nails and then some. I respect him but I do know his limit. I guess the woman in the video did not know that officer's limits.

I have several LEO friends and they would tell you that I always tell them to be safe and careful when we part.

SVTCOP's mentality is what make being a police officer so hard. We do it because we love the job and want to help the public. It just seems there is a generation of officers out there make bad choices. It gets in the media and is quite embarrassing.

That Deputy had hundreds of options before the "elbow" to the face. Her arms appeared to be down at her side. I think those two deputies could have put her in cuffs.

And before some one jumps in and says she is too fat. Each Deputy had cuffs, one on each wrist could of done it.

Most of the time in that situation you would have been cuffed and escorted off the bus first. It would not have made it to the point of him punching her unless she resisted arrest.

I wouldn't so much call it 'getting out of it' as I would the suits being adjudged as unproven or dismissed from lack of evidence.

The majority of cases I've witnessed against LEO's stemmed from folks who perceived they were somehow wronged and thus, entitled to compensation.

I agree with you on this aspect with the exception I don't agree they could have put her in cuffs. They SHOULD have but these two deputies don't seem to have a clue how to handle this situation. I didn't see any real attempts at gaining physical control of her before the elbow went flying.

That can be blamed on lack of training offered by that department or the lack of understanding on previous training received by the deputies. Either way, it looks very bad.

Yup, all across the nation Police Academies have had to be nice to the recruits to avoid being sued.

In Albuquerque we can not yell or tell someone to do push-ups. The federal government says that is grounds for a hostile work environment complaint and we have had a few law suits.

So basically police training turns into a college type course anyone can pass if they pass background and physical.

We have seen a dramatic increase of of crap like this.....

Bummer. I know in Oklahoma, they will bring the wrath. Especially the Highway Patrol Academy. That whole thing is run by mostly former military drill types. And (besides that one jackass a couple years ago with the ambulance incident) they never have problems.

We were like that until about 2005 when some sissy recruits sued saying they were being physically punished. They won a Federal EEOC hostile work environment case. The city paid out and now being physically fit is "optional" if someone makes a mistake. BS!

Now our academy buys all recruits lunch and they can even take cell phone and smoke breaks, crazy.

I agree. That cop has half the class that ex-soldier has. That was just plain wrong, and you just know there will be a big law-suit coming, and the cop's future doesn't very bright. One can only wonder what would have been reported if the cop had taken away that phone. After talking to the guy he knew he shouldn't be any more stupid than he had already been.

They proceed to yell at me asking me if i know how fast i was going, pull me out of the car, cuff me,put me in the back and keep threatening to give me tickets since im a class a driver, illegally search my vehicle, harass me a little more, then let me go..pos cops..
