How do you like this Honda lawn mower....I feel like mine has overheating issues and doesn't want to start when it's hot.

My mother-in-law has that exact model pictured.
The only gripes I have from using her mower is that the bag latch sucks, as grass and debris will fill up the slots where bag rails seat, and it falls off unless you clean out the slots after every bag change.
Also, the unit is quite light, and bounces all over the place on rougher terrain.

Trimmers and edgers are pretty much like car brands. Someone will always get a lemon and then say that that brand is junk.
If you buy a name brand like echo, stihl, husqvarna, shindaiwa, red max you should be just fine.

Now, on with the show. This is my current line up. Lol
It has changed recently.

My Red Max 2350s

20" self propelled that I rarely use unless I want to mulch or bag under the oak trees in the yard or if I just want to cut by the pool without getting anything bigger out or even for exercise.
Bought for $50 from a buddy who had a lawn service and only used it for 1 yard.

For the yard at my actual house,
People talk bad about them but the commercial models are not bad and this actually leaves the prettiest cut of all I've used. Including hustler, exmark, scag, etc....
48" cub cadet recon with 23hp kohler command.

I used to cut 8 or so acres of ours with this and 5.5 for the neighbor but it is now used to ring the trees and a few other tight places on the property.
2007 just turned 1400 hours.
72" exmark 29hp Kawasaki, liquid cooled.

Next, mainly used for limb clean up with a 6' landscape rake but it does have 48" finish mower and I have pulled the 60" with it also.
Case/IH 235. 18hp
Early 90s model. 2500 hours and still runs great.

2006 JD 5105
45hp
A little over 300 hours and mostly used with the 6' brush hog.

And I picked this up used recently to take over from the 72" zero turn as it is much smoother.
2003 JD 5220
53hp
Around 800 hours and pulls the FM2012 12' flex wing finish mower.

I guess since we use it to maintain the yard it could be considered lawn equipment.
And the reason I never have a tractor with front end loader.
Everyone always ask why I don't when they see a tractor.

I took the lazy route. A friend of mine has a lawn care business and he takes care of my lawn. I love coming home to a freshly cut lawn. :)

That John Deere 318 (1986) above looks to be in stellar condition. Talk about a solid mower!

Awesome, love the batwing mower. I bet that makes short work of a field.

Believe it or not it didn't cut time down as much as you would think.
The 6' Zero turn is almost twice as fast as I can cut with the batwing but the batwing covers twice the ground.
The blade tip speed on most tractor finish mowers is in the 15,000 FPM range where as the zero turns are in the 18,000 FPM range.

It won't quite handle the speed of a zero turn. It does however save my back and equipment damage from hitting bumps at 12 MPH. lol

I know that feeling all too well.

We took our son down to the local farm/implement dealer so he could look at all the tractors (His new favorite pastime, seems like he is going to have the misfortune of turning out just like his dad :D ), and I wandered out with this. Tried it out on a couple shrubs this evening, it makes quick work of them. Sure beats clipping by hand.

My $0.02 being in the business is you get what you pay for. Stihl is #1 in handhelds for a reason. Same goes for a Honda branded push mower. Best tip for buying a ZTR since there are so many too chose from is find a local dealer (preferably a Kohler Expert Dealer) and buy what they sell since they will be servicing (in some cases) and handling warranty if needed. I personally think the Scag Liberty Z is the best residential ZTR on the market and for a Commercial ZTR I'd go with a Scag, Walker or Exmark with an EFI engine (avoid Briggs if possible).

Knock on wood, I have never had any starting issues.

I only keep 2 gallons of gas in a container at a time, put some Sta-bil in it, and always top off the mower tank after each mowing.

My mother-in-law has that exact model pictured.

Yeah, the slots for the bag do tend to fill w/grass clippings, but it's no big deal to me. Once I empty the bag, I just take a finger and clean the slot for the bag frame out and I'm good to go - takes all of a few seconds.

I've never noticed it hopping around on my lawn, the weight seems fine to me, whether I am navigating around flower beds or walking in a straight line w/the self propel pushed down.

Stihl hedge clippers have been the Best tool purchase I've made so far this year! So much fun, it's like wielding a lawn lightsaber! Lol.
