Mine gets out of the yard every so often so I picked one up about a month ago.

I haven't tried that one, but we did try a tracking collar on our 2 Australian shepherds. Can't remember the name, but it worked on cellular gps. Refreshed every minute or two. It did not work for us.
We ended up getting the collars made by Garmin. Intended more for hunting dogs, but I can track them in real time. Has saved me multiple times with both dogs. They don't necessarily run off, but they like to wander.
Grab the handheld and walk/drive straight to them. A little expensive, but worth it IMO.

My girl Gemma. Due to her health declining we had to put her to sleep the end of February. She made it to 11 years old though. She used to sleep on her bed next to my side of the bed. I still check before putting my feet on the floor.
