Lets talk grills and airflow.

Well, I drove the car back to back with the saleen grille and the stock grille with fogs in. Honestly, it felt the same to me. I blipped the throttle under several rpm ranges and gears, and both were pretty consistent. That helps me with my decision to keep my fogs.

As far are temps are concerned, I don't know. But I can't see it being too much different, since it's still pulling in the same ambient air.

Just removed my fog lights today, going to replace with some 35W Philips HID's in the GT/CS style Starkey kit in the lower valance.

Notes:

Throttle response is better for sure, I noticed it right away. Car pulls a bit harder and oddly seems to idle a bit smoother too. The rear of the driver side fog light housing sticks way back in front of the OEM air inlet so that's probably why, aside from the straight shot into the intake pipe for fresh air now. I picked up some Boss 302 fog light covers that I'll be adjusting to fit on the OEM grille for rainy or snowy days.

Cost: $64 (for the fog light covers), and I like the look

This is exactly what my car looks like now, black and all. Personally I like the delete look. I can vouch for your first impressions, I felt the same improvements.

For the record, I didn't feel any improvement in power or throttle response. Opening up the grill right in front of the air box inlet helps a bit I'm sure, but enough to actually feel it?.. I'm thinking it's more of the good old placebo effect myself.

Gutter guard from Home Depot, spray paint and 45 minutes.

Car feels the same, drives the same, get the same fuel economy, doesn't idle any difference, NASA nor the FAA have called and warned me yet so it must not be doing too much...

I do get thumbs up and alot of "it look's great"

Straight from ford concerning the boss 302:

The 2013 Boss also offers a unique functional design feature in the grille with removable covers where fog lamps would be. The covers can be easily removed with a screwdriver for improved cooling on track days.

There is a benefit, hence the reason ford designed the boss this way.

Cooling, no doubt. Just wonder how it affects the intake.
