construction superintendent for about 11 years now

me too. i work for a mid sized GC based out of long island. currently im putting up a 13 million dollar building in brooklyn.

for those that dont know what this job entails its basically making sure the building gets built the way its supposed to. that means keeping trades on track, quality control, and quality assurance, paperwork, project meetings, coordination meetings, and the list goes on and on.. basically a construction super does it all from start to finish.. the captain of the ship so to speak. after this project they may bump me up to general super since we have a good handful of projects going on..

although my degree is in criminal justice and i was going to be a cop. thats what i wanted to do since 11th grade. i even got called for upstate ny, but decided to stay in construction.

HEY! what does that mean? I am an architect for a firm in dallas. We do mainly k-12 educational buildings.

I create and design electrical and power systems for commercial, industrial, residential, etc. construction projects and buildings. I was making the joke about the architect...knew there was one on here somewhere. When I say tell them what to do it is usually because most architects have no clue how the electrical side of things work.

US Navy: Gas Turbine Engineer. Not as exciting as it sounds. More like slave labor if you ask me.

Its true, being in the pits on a ship is a rough life. I worked topside all the time, but had a few EN's that were friends. What ship are you on?

Nope. My unit was based out of Balad. They were still over in the eastern sectors when we were supporting them. This was all in 03 btw. :)
