customers were asking for a pinkeye edition challenger? news to me

making higher part number counts to existing product increases cost as you lower the volume for each model (aka cannibalizing sales).

If they were smart they would have only 4 challenger models. base v6, base v8 R/T, SRT 6.4 and hellcat.. There is literally no reason to make 50 different super special editions that are 95% the same.

Prove to me that they are getting new sales with each submodel and i rest my case. If im in the market for a $70,000 muscle car either i want a hellcat or i dont. Making a "fisheye" version isnt going to net new customers.

So a multi - billion dollar company should listen to you....why again?

Who are you?

And yes, customers are asking for Hellcats with more power (i'm looking past your childish pinkeye edition comment), hence why Performance Shops are a thing.

Is this a real question?

We get it; you're a die hard blue oval fan that is frustrated. You made your point.

the worst performing automaker in the country who will likely be spun off and sold to an asian company in the next year. So mayby the way they do things isn't the best.

they could have easily made the hellcat have 799hp or whatever for the 2019 model year without introducing a new submodel. Again, anyone who knows anything about mass production knows that adding complexity via sku counts kills profits.

meanwhile, hellcat prices are sinking like the titanic. I saw a clean one posted the other day for like $42k. I guess after people get bored of having an un-useable 707hp they move on to something else.

please find one post that said i was a "diehard" blue oval fan. I don't own, nor have i ever owned any mustang. Refusing to jack off to FCA marketing ads does not automatically make one a blue oval fanboy.

So let me sum up your points

1) You hate anything but Ford. If Ford doesn't make it, its shit. Got it. Those blinders must be thick!

2) Making submodels is a waste of time, according to you. No matter if every one sells. Got it. I forgot about your career as upper management in an automotive manufacturer.

3) Used private party sale prices (and one example at that!) now dictate an automotive manufacturer is failing. Got it.

You guys remember Tombstone where Wyatt's slapping the shit out of the guy in casino - "you gonna do something or just stand there and bleed?"

Wyatt might as well be Dodge and the other guy is Ford right now

Well Sam Elliot has been a narrator for Dodge Ram commercials for some time now.

Pick your poison.

Then accept that Dodge is doing something right. They are appealing to their customer base. If it isn't your thing, great.

I personally think the new Bullitt is a waste. Its price is overinflated in my opinion vs what the car offers. I also don't care for the styling of the car. I'm not on the Bullitt thread losing my mind over the car. I appreciate it for what it is, and move on.

I was getting sick of the BS from this guy... but now you have my attention.

Why are you on a predominantly Mustang site then?

I guess we all made an odd assumption seeing that his SN ends in 01svt.

Guys, Guys, Guys we're doing it all wrong. We need to go sign up on the honda boards, and just piss and moan about how they're pieces of shit, and a waste of money, and blah blah blah.

Right?

No?

Oh. Adults dont do that?

Oh.....

when i joined the forum i owned a 2001 SVT lightning. I dd for about 7yrs and 150k miles and traded it in on a 2012 f150 with coyote. I also had a trans am at one point but never a mustang..

my next vehicle may or may not be a ford, gm or fca. I'm loyal to neither brand as they dont pay my mortgage.
