13 pages. Who would of thunk. We need a thread on the performance or recommendations on different waxes/quick detailers maybe. Mindless ramble rousing on my behalf but there was some good info in this thread.
I haven’t tried the HCW dry as like a quick detailed. I just wiped the cars down after drying with the Ice as a detail spray. So you are doing both, I thought they were both supposed to do the same thing?
Well........I just tried it on my CTS V and, so far, I am not impressed.
I had already detailed the car with Pinnacle products and finished with their Signature Series ll wax.
I followed the instructions for initial use and the finish was blotchy and streaky. So, I soaked the car again and followed the instructions for subsequent uses. Not any better.
It was warm, 101 degrees and little humidity. As I dried the car, I had to keep spraying water on the rest of the car.
The finish was still blotchy and looked terrible. So, I put some HCW in a spray bottle with water (8/1 H2O/HCW). I used it as a quick detail wax, and after more work, the finish looked like it did before I started this mess.
The water beaded better before the HCW and I don't think it looks any better. All I hpoe for now is that the HCW helps the carnuba wax last longer than normal.
I never had this problem with other Meguires wax-as-you-dry spray products in the past.
I wonder if it's just a compatability issue with the carnuba wax.
I don't rinse it, just spray it on and wipe it dry.
I agree it was streaky after the hose off. After hosing off and then blowing the car dry, it definitely is streaky and splotchy (great tech terms), but it cleans up easily with a detail spray and then looks great.Well........I just tried it on my CTS V and, so far, I am not impressed.

Yeah, just spray it on the vehicle when it’s still wet.As a drying aide??? I have one more car worth of Bead Maker before I try HCW like that, hoping it goes on better better with a wet panel vs a dry one. Did not like using it on dry panels with an foam applicator.
That will guarantee streaking. As a drying aide??? I have one more car worth of Bead Maker before I try HCW like that, hoping it goes on better better with a wet panel vs a dry one. Did not like using it on dry panels with a foam applicator.
