thats right, pissed. You people are not gonna beleive
this. I went to look at it, but they tell me I cant test drive
it. Some shit about the owner doesnt want people putting
miles on them incase you dont buy. I had that car on order
for months, but Im not a serious buyer? :gt:

Just have them start the paperwork, and require a test drive before you sign. If you're pre-approved and are a serious buyer, they will let you drive it, first.

The two dealers I bought my first two Cobras from wouldn't let me drive either until i signed on the bottom line. When my 03 came in it had the "Do not Sale" sticker and my salesman was busy with another buyer. He saw me and walked up and threw me the keys and said take it for a spin. I couldn't believe it. I guess you can appreciate them not wanting unwanted miles on it but you would think you were pretty serious. I tried to get them to let me drive the 01 vert I bought last year several times before all the paper work was being drawn up and they just wouoldn't budge. All three of my Cobras were bought at three different SVT dealers.

That is pretty ridiculous when you ordered the car. I feel for you. But soon you'll be tearing up the asphalt in your new '03 Cobra!

Did you cancel your order? If you ordered it, isn't it yours?

(Maybe I'm getting in this discussion a bit late?)

I was already financed through e-loan.

I did not want to drive it, car had 1.1 miles, some nubs on rear tires, no tire remains in fender-well. Spent an hour looking it over, taking pictures. Car was in perfect condition, as it should be!

It would not have mattered anyway, the 2003 Cobra was miNE, mINE, MINE!!!

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Sorry ....

92,
My dealer wanted a deposit to pretty much secure mine. I said ok, thats pretty understandable, but on the deposit/order form I had them type in that I would HAVE to test the car- before payment. I got both my salesman and the GM to sign it. That pretty much took care of the test drive issue. I'm pretty sure you could do the same.

PS man is the weather pretty here:rolling:

My dealer let me drive mine while they were preparing the paperwork, so I had not signed anything until I returned and then we sealed the deal. Unfortunatly, I did not feel the Vibe until the next day. On my car you need to be in 6th at 80, it did not do it in 5th, and I never got to 6th in my test drive. No matter, my dealer is great and I know they will fix it. They are also mod friendly so it all good.

No, actually i didnt.

But Bob Little the owner of Tom's Ford is a friend of mine and so is the general sales manager Drew Anzalone.

Go talk to Drew, he is a good guy. Plus, if the car is ordered for you and you put a deposit down on it, they will let you drive it.

Let me know otherwise.

Back in 1997, I took delivery of a 1998 Honda Accord Coupe EX V6 which didn't even have 1 mile registered. I believe it only had 8 tenths on the odometer. Back in 1993, I purchased a Lincoln Mark VIII with only 1.4 miles on the odometer. I guess some dealers don't even bother test riding new vehicles which is fine by me since they don't fix anything until you bring it back for warranty work and even then they like to use the standard service line they are all taught at a young age-- "Unable to duplicate problem at this time".
