I wanted to share my TVS build and tune experience with you guys. I had the typical 2.76 Upper Pulley with exhaust and a tune 455 rwhp 475 rwtq for the past 2 years and decided it was time to step it up. After hearing so many good things about the TVS on forums and through Jay (blwn04svtcobra) I decided to go that route. Jay is the man, I met him through work and he’s always helped me out with my car so he wanted to do the build for me. He also helped me find/order most of my parts, as some may know he’s a vendor for VMP. Jay put a lot of time in for me, car was at his garage the whole time.
Mods:
2.3 TVS from VMP
2.8 Upper Pulley
Acccufab Single Blad TB
Elbow for Accufab TB from VMP
80 lb injectors
MAF SCT 2800
Mac LongTubes
Lethel Catless Xpipe
Borla Stingers
Dual GT Pumps
Fore Fuel Hat

Next was finding the right tuner, which is where I wasn’t 100% sure on. My first tune was from Chris at EFI. Jay ended up meeting Bill from Pro Edge Tuning in New Haven CT a few weeks ago at a car benefit. Bill is a Ford guy, has 17 years experience and def knows his stuff!! Jay came along for the tune since he built the car up and wanted to make sure everything went well. When we got there Bill was very welcoming and told us the back-story of the shop, which was interesting. As far as tuning Bill explained everything to me, knowing I did not know much about tuning. I could tell he’s very professional with his job and cares about the customer leaving happy, very nice guy and laid back. By the way the shop has a mustang dyno.

The car ended up putting down 601 rwhp 558 rwtrq, 19 PSI 18* Timing. This was after a few good pulls so the car was getting hot, we had to put ice on the TVS in between pulls lol. We took the car for a test drive and it blew the tires off up to 4th gear… I think I need better tires lol.. right now I have 295 kdw2s.

I wanted to thank Jay and Bill for all the help on my Cobra, I had a great experience with the whole thing and can’t wait to drive the car this spring/summer. If anyone in CT is looking for car work I recommend speaking to Jay and anyone in the NorthEast looking for a great tuner I would go to Bill at Pro Edge Tuning in New Haven CT. They recently put up a Facebook page and have a new website currently in the works. Big props to them!

Here is the dyno video ( that's Jay laughing at the end lol)

Great write up Bill...glad your happy with the final product...if you want your glory dyno sheet put it on a dyno jet. You will be busting some ass with that car now regardless. Car easily will kay down 650+ on a dyno jet.

That's a completely different animal now from your previous setup. Even on the low side of 10 percent difference in dynos you are well over 650rwhp. I'm sure these numbers will sell a few more vmp tvs blowers. With the bigger TB & inlet soon to be released there will be some hurt feelings out there.

Very impressive numbers from a stingy Mustang Dyno. I dont think I have seen one thread where a VMP TVS did not perform well.

Awesome op! I keep hearing great things about the TVs blower. When you had boltons we had almost exactly the same numbers!

Why anyone would consider any other brand 2.3 or closer displacement blower is beyond me.

dang you saw 19lbs with the 2.8" and lt's? .. i thought the 2.8" was suppose to be 18lbs without longtubes

i'd like to see a comparison of a 2.3 tvs vs a 2.3 whipple at the same boost level

as i am a whipple guy right now .. but do like the idea of the new larger inlet and gt500 size tb coming out

Great write up. Glad to hear some news about a different tuner in CT. I too had my car tuned at EFI on my previous setup and have been looking to get a re-tune on my new setup. I'll have to take a look at Pro Edge now.

I've seen you post this before. I was just wondering why you think your 2.3 numbers are so low. Your numbers with the whipple are so low?
