The list did die down, due to new cars being released, and other formulations not performing overall as well. The first post has the latest recommendation list for 2017 and beyond. I am working in other threads on this forum, and other forums. In conclusion, I'd say the current recommendation list is the best treatment you could give your GT500.

How much fluid does it take to fully redo the power steering?

The original post says to use Amsoil Synthetic ATF - 3.6 quart fill (buy a gallon and use the left over fluid in your power steering pump).

Would the remaining fluid left over from the gallon be enough to do a full fluid swap.

Recently installed 170* t-stat and killer chiller. Going to change oil out this Friday. Looking at the uoa sheet the 5w40 mobile 1 sheered 0% but has only one use posted. Is that correct because that's what we get out the reel for factory MB oil and it pretty much free for me. Not interested in boutique oil just something I can get short notice. Car is daily driven hard with a few drag strip runs sprinkled throughout the year.

Funny you mention that because I came in this thread to start looking for that. I've only used Rotella T6 5w40 in my Shelby and previous cars. My Dad has been using it in his cars for many years as well and gets it tested every couple of years. He's got about 80k miles on the V10 in his E350 and the tests always come back with very positive results using that oil.

Just a general question: How does the wear protection described here: https://540ratblog.wordpress.com/
    ...
Correlate to the shear weight and test results posted (most excellently!) by Unleashedbeast? 0W40 Mobil 1 “FS” European Car Formula it at #3, Amsoil 5W40 at #116.

I'm also kind of surprised when the same brand and similar oil weights are ranked VERY differently.

    ...Just trying to understand.

Amsoil reformulated Signature Series with a more robust additive package than every before. Turbo/Supercharging is no longer considered severe service. That's one hell of an accomplishment. I will post links, pictures, and other information as it becomes available.

I've seen this blog posted over and over through the years, as it's aged. From what I can gather, as it's a very long blog, he is using a machine we commonly refer to as the "one arm bandit". It could be something a little different, but the concept is the same, and results can be manipulated. Watch this video for example. It makes me want to put Head & Shoulders in all of my engines.

Here is a link to Amsoil's 2017 reformulation of their Signature Series, XL, and OE lines. All the details are here. Download the file for easier viewing with Adobe Reader.

I have a case of 10w30 Racing Dominator oil.
Was thinking of mixing with the Amsoil 5w50 in a 1:1 ratio.
    Any thoughts UB?
My 5.8 has now been rebuilt by JDM after oil pump gear failure.

I wouldn't mix Dominator with Signature since the additive packages are very different. Not saying there would be a negative effect, but it's possible. If you have too much oil pressure with 5W-50 for the way you drive, use the 10W-30 you have. If that's too low, try 0W-40 for the similar results you were looking for mixing 10W-30 with 5W-50. Find the sweet spot.

    Wow, those exist already? Kidding!

Same recommendations as a car that is new really. Unless the engine is leaking due to faulty seals.

Thanks UB, I'll be checking a UOA on the new engine soon. Pretty close to the second oil change time. Shop that installed and dyno'd changed the break in after tuning. It's an E85 Car so I want to change regularly until UOA gives guidance.

Just want to confirm that my research and line of thinking is correct.

Car: 2014 GT500 (non track pack)
    Mods: 800rwhp bolt ons
    Fuel: E85
Use: Street runs, drag strip, cruising
    Area: South Texas

From what I have searched, the two options are:
    1) Amsoil AZF 0W-40
    2) Amsoil AMR 5w-50

    Filter: Amsoil Ea011

If someone could confirm, or offer another option I would appreciate.

Would like to hear UB rec here too as I'm close.
Euro spec 0w40 Mobil one has my interest also but I have some 20w50 Valvoline race oil and some 10w30 Amsoil racing dominator to mix up next swap.
I'm doing oil analysis on the new motor and E85 on 950+rwhp range.
