I want to do this but for the price I'd rather just piece together a Centri kit. This would be more fun on the street though.
It is an absolute blast to drive, I don't see winning any races with it unless I had slicks...and that's not happening until the trans is swapped out for something with a little more "beef" to it. I was always told; "If you want to know what your drivetrain is made of, slap slicks on it and launch at 3000 RPM's!". Needless to say, a T-45 is not going to hold together very long bashing gears and launching hard with or without slicks and this setup. As with most Positive Displacement blowers....with street radials, makes 1st, 2nd, and about half of 3rd gear pointless.
it would be nice if everybody mentioned what they are making with those kits
i have one in my garage ready to go and parts to build the block so i ll update this thread this summer with the numbers and pictures
let me know what you guys are making with a build block so i can have an idea
Most of the time its in the sig, but typical power is 380-410 rwhp and 390-425 rwtq on stock bottom ends. They can make more power but then you really start walking that knifes edge on everything staying together.
Mine made 400 hp and 410 tq at the tires on a mustang dyno.
I'm making ZERO right now. I have been ready for the dyno, just have to finish out this semester before it gets trailered to HPP Racing.
Toby's car is beautiful, looking forward to the pictures.
My secret plan is to put a 4.0 whipple on it. It would have a bigger blower than my Cobra!
Thanks for the compliment!
Can't wait to see one built and packing a 4.0 whipple!
? All the pics in here look like Heatons....
Um, yep...would appear that way
local guy is making low 400's on his tork tech. To me, seems like a lot of work to strap a ****ing eaton on something.
Certainly not for the faint of heart, but in my opinion, the looks of the stock 03-04 eaton surpasses all the rest...with the exception of the whipple. That's just me though and made it worth it.
Heck, if we wanted easy horsepower, we would all strap a bottle in our car and push a 150 shot through it. Lots of easier ways to get there, but when you finally get done going this route...it makes the time and pain worth it.
love this thread idea keep them coming... finally have a eaton sitting here waiting for a tork tech kit
if you have build threads post the links in here!
I got a small thread here on this site.
