Like all of you, I just wish Ford would reveal / release this car already so our conversations could be about the reason we're here, instead of my incredibly small penis. If the car delivers on all fronts, I would seriously considering trading my two in for this one. In my head, I've started to do a PROS/CONS list of this car. Yeah I know we don't have ALL the details yet, but does anyone really expect a big surprise? We kind of know most of it. Here's what's on my list. Would love to hear yours.
GT500 PROS
- 750bhp with a factory warranty
- Track tuned suspension / handling
- 10 Speed Tranny
- Fastest / Quickest mustang ever - expecting Low 10's @ 135
- Shelby pedigree
- Will hold value
- Incredible sound
GT500 CONS
- Dated looks. No way around this.
- New Stang re-design right around the corner
- Front design. Don't like the black bumper at all. Breaks up the racing stripes and overall looks of the car. I think the GT350 R front end is damn near perfect.
- Weight. Car will be much heavier than 350...
- Side Stripe. The stripe with the GT500 on the sides just doesn't look good at all
- Limited Avail / Price gouging. Dealers are going to mark this thing up way over 100K. Just watch.
There's going to be a lot more to LOVE than HATE about this car for sure. Ford isn't dumb. They know what they need to do. We should all thank DODGE for forcing FORD to up the bar on this car. And I fully expect them to deliver. My main concern is that it just took SO LONG and by the time the car is out, we're going to get an all new Mustang and this car is going to really feel dated in 2-3 years time. Ironic saying that as Dodge hasn't changed the Challenger look in 12 plus years, but that's why it doesn't make these new Dodges feel dated, because they never fully redesigned it.
I also have no desire to play the dealer game. I see 15-30K markups being the standard here. Economy has been so good and there are now 1 Million Millionaires in America alone. People will pay over all day long.
If I were to be honest. I think the GT500 is going to bring the GT350R prices down a lot and it's going to be a great time to pick up a 350R and just drive the hell out of it. Then trade up for the 500 when hype dies down. What do you guys think?
