I put 2.80 with an idler, because thats the setup I have. I'm still not sure if I think the idler is necessary or not, cause i havent tried it without it. As far as pulley size a 2.80 pulley goes with an 03 cobra like lamb and tunafish...

I can say this, on the dyno, you do not need an idler pulley. If you think about it, have the HP numbers gone up since people started using idlers? Not from what I have seen. I have seen more then a few 03 cobra's (including mine) dyno at 450+rwhp and 480+rwtq with a 2.80 and no idlers. But at the track, you are putting more load on the car so the argument is that you may not get too much slip on the dyno, but at the track you will get slip. If you are going to use an idler, only use the one upper idler.

I would really like to see track results from a regular 2.80 pulley with an ilder compared to a non slip 2.80 pulley with no idler (steel pulley, not aluminum). I would bet that the 2.80 pulley with no idler would run just as fast as the car with the idler.

I personally had DOUG install my 2.76 nonslip and his complete idler set. Got to be worth an extra 15hp.

Doug as soon as the blower get's back from Apten we will need to get on the phone again and work on that red headed stepchild issue. ;-)
