My tuner has the revlimiter set at 7200 RPM, I usually try and shift at 7K. I very often get high speed lock out. The planets have to be aligned perfectly for me to get a clean run and make all shifts.

Mine does without issue. I only have a new clutch line and the clutch pedal spring removed. I’ve shifted at 7,800, no problems.

What is the deal with the clutch pedal spring? I sometimes have to put my foot under the pedal to pick it up off the floor.

If it were me, my next mod would be cat deletes. I was running low 11's on a 82 pulley and by changing to a 79 and cat deletes I picked up 5 mph and made it into the 10's. I see you already have the 79 but with a stick you should have a much better mph. My first thought is you are either having clutch slipping issues or the cats could be some what plugged.

My times were on par with yours but I have an auto and my 60's were in the 1.7's. For your combo and mph something seems off

I already have cat deletes. My tires are hooking hard with a 1.51 60' time. No clutch slippage at all. The only problem I have with the stock clutch is high speed lock out. Not sure why I am having such a hard time hitting 10's. I think the run in the video would have been 10's had I not missed 4th gear.

I think fastest way for you to get deep into the 10's is to change your rear gears or run a smaller tire. With you only having a 3.31 gear and shifting at 7200 rpm, you are probably crossing the finish line around 6,000.

No all stock.

A whole new clutch will cure that, but the bandaid is a braided clutch line. If you do the clutch, you should do the clutch line anyway, so won’t hurt to put the line in before the clutch. My car has 25k miles on it, about 15k with the supercharger. The stock clutch can hold some good power.

Generally the MT82 cars with boost do best with the 3.31 gears and 28” tires. I wouldn’t change the gear, I’d fix the clutch lockout issue. A two step or a WOT box would get you 10’s easily. I haven’t used them because I’m afraid they’ll blow my shit up.

It really depends on RPM that you are crossing the line. If you are going threw the trap at too low of a RPM then you should change your gear ratio. To get the best time out of your car you need to cross the line very close to your shift point.

Here is a little gear chart for you. So base your mph of roughly 124 mph your are crossing the line roughly around 6400 rpm.

5.0 forced induction, 125-135mph, 7,500rpm redline.
Manual trans

3.31 rear ratio with 28" tires: 6,550-7,100rpm in 4th
  • 3.55 rear ratio with 28" tires: 7,050-7,500rpm in 4th
Auto trans

  • 3.15 rear ratio with 28" tires: 7,200 in 3rd to 5,800rpm in 4th
  • 3.55 rear ratio with 28" tires: 6,100-6,550rpm in 4th

  • 3.73 rear ratio with 28" tires: 6,400-6,900rpm in 4th

  • 4.10 rear ratio with 28" tires: 7,000-7,500rpm in 4th(just barely

I had 3.73 in there but I pulled them out and installed the 3.31 gears. With the 3.73 in there I almost couldn't shift into 2nd fast enough and was shifting into 5th.

I am trapping between 124 and 126 mph with the 3.31 gears.

Keep your 3.31's with the tvs you are fine at the current rpm- (you will only be going faster later) like I stated before your car may have made 620?? on the dyno but the numbers you are putting up are closer to low 500's with a time slip- you need to confirm that no timing is being pulled because of high iat's - you said iat's were around 140? Your car is 60'ing decent and more than adequate to get you well into the 10's . Just doesn't seem the car is pulling like it should after the 60' . Time slip is linear in being off in performance from start to finish after the 60'. To give you a example when I was na I would run 11.20's w/ 1.58-1.59 60' @ 96 in the 1/8 and 121 in the qtr. this on 450rwhp with bolt on's and good gas. (decent da as well)

Yeah, I am thinking it must be the IAT. My tuner at VMP looked at my data logs from the track and said they are rarely under 140 degrees.
