I'd like to go to SEMA this year.

How would I get in using my web site(s)?

Would it be easier to attend as a "guest" of one of the exhibitors?

Please help.

thanks,

Show the boobs in your avatar and the information will flow in like a gushing river.

dude... i work in Hackensack

I just found out from a buddy of mine I could use my work credentials to get into SEMA "legally" so to speak.

This ought to be fun.

you have to run a business or work for a business that is related to the auto industry. thier are three ways you can get in. as a buyer, or as a seller, or media member.

if you have these credentials go ahead and sign up through the website. it is fairly inexpensive to get into the show. i cant find the price this year though early registration(pre oct) was about 20 buck in 05. if you do hook on with a friend in the business be prepared with at least your own business card. note media needs 2 forms of id to get in.

I'd like to know too if I can get in. I run my own hot dog stand on the weekends. Hopefully Sabretts doesn't already have a vendor lined up for the show.

I think I might be safer going with my job credentials

In the limousine industry we rely heavily on the aftermarket manufacturers

Nice.... now if I could only find a reasonable hotel to stay in.... close to the strip...

--Russ

Mirage or Treasure Island will put you dead center of the strip, and there are shuttle buses each day to the show....

www.mirage.com and at the bottom of the link you can click on any of the other MGM/Mirage corp. hotels on the strip for rates and info...

If you stay downtown in old Las Vegas, you will find cheaper rates, but you are a few miles from the action...

well this trip is a go... thanks to one of the SRT owners on my other site, free passes rock!

I checked out the hotels on the strip and its definitely not in my budget... most hotels were high $800's to low $1200 for the time period... I was thinking more along the lines of say $200 to $300 max.

Obviously it won't happen on the strip so I might have to rent a car and get out of vegas, I've stayed at one of the casinos in the nearby towns with one of those $29.99 a night year round deals.

The part that will suck is parking, and worrying about a car in downtown Vegas.

Last time I was in Vegas on my West Coast road trip, I drove the strip twice, taking the pic by the Mandalay Bay with the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign and that was the extent of my stay, I really didn't want to worry about the car this time but based on the costs I might have to.

I really want to sightsee Las Vegas some more so I won't need the car on the strip, but if I decide to pay another visit to Shelby or check out the Northern Rim of the Grand Canyon, it might come in handy... plus I should save some money on cabs from the airport and whatnot.

I don't know, gotta figure this out before October.

when you book your hotel go through sema. or at least tell the hotel that you will be attending sema. many hotels have a book or rooms for sema guests with better prices.

to give you a clue a stayed at the nyny during the same time period in 05 and paid 112 a night! also check the sema site and they will give the hotels that will have a free shuttle to and from the show!

edit: also you cant see everything in one day. its too big. plan on at least 2 days to go through the entire place. if thier is something you want to come back to take a note of location(right it down). if you dont it will be hard to find(i was unable to relocate a girl i wanted meet working a booth:bash:). plus there will be many events and drop ins(celebrity speaking or signing) throughout the show as well. everything that is planned(and much of it is) is on the website times and dates location. have fun!

Last time I went to the SEMA show was in 2003.

Free place to stay at my attorney's house (he was in Germany for two months).
He has an incredible house right on a golf course. I had a choice of cars to drive as long as I put gas in them.

One of his clients is a machine tool manufacturer that had a large display area at SEMA so he had them leave me an exhibitors badge at the check in area.

Make sure that you bring plenty of cash since everything at the show is incredible overpriced.

And bring your most comfortable shoes. After walking around for two days my dogs were barking.

And I hope you like looking at wheels. There must have been three hundred different displays of wheels. And only about ten were fit to have on a Cobra or GT500. The rest of them were for pimps and rappers.

My dads company belongs to sema, just as advertising and being apart of their magaizine.
We want to go this year, but just as spectators, but are afraid its too late to get hotels and plane tickets.

You can get event tickets easily by being a member though!!

I checked the prices to join SEMA... for this one show that I'm thinking to attend I don't think its worth it as my boss has absolutely no interest in it.

My plane tickets were free... I just have to pay $10 in taxes and I get to fly on comfy leather seats with TV in the headrest in front of me... I love Jet Blue! (when they're not late)

I'm talking to a couple of guys that are going maybe we'll chip in for a hotel room, that should bring the prices way down!
