exactly you had already made up your mind and nothing we say will keep you from getting a shelby. so enjoy your shelby
Actually, this is not true. But when I considered suspension, supercharger, and potentially forged internals down the road, the cost will be more than what I can get a Shelby for. So that's why I want to trade.

I would probablt keep the car and put a blower on it, but that's me. I try to get out from under my payments as fast as possible. Of course a 13/14 GT500 would be pretty sweet...

GT500 is a better built car than the 5.0. Starting with forged internals is a big plus and plenty of guys around 800 rwhp on a stock motor 5.4. There are plenty of 2010-12 GT500s under 40k. Pulley and tune over 500 rwhp for under a grand. Add a TVS or whipple and 650 rwhp plus is no problem.

2012 gt-500 550 crank hp thats about 480 rwhp add a pulley and tune will make 575-600 rwhp depending on the pulley size. Add longtubes and exhaust your over 625 easy! Whipple or kenne bell looking at 700 hp easily!

You also get a tremec even though it has remote mounted shifter. You get the svt 8.8 rear which is more stout then the 5.0 8.8 rear! if your gonna drop 40 k on a 2012 a 2013 is not to much further away and its a better car then the 12!

Trade, un-like some have said, you get a lot more than just a super-charger when you purchase a 13/14 Shelby GT 500. You get a completely upgraded car to go with the motor.

Achamb, if you are looking for a 13/14 GT500 in the low $40's, I suspect that you will have to wait a few years and for a high-mileage version.

The 40k range is gonna be the 2012 svt package gt -500 then mod it to keep pace with a 13/14 gt-500. You'd be lucky to find a 13/14 wrecked but fixable at that price!

I think y'all are misunderstanding me. I am going to look for a 2011-12 because I cannot afford a 2013. I was merely pointing out that the 13 the guy posted earlier was $15-20k above what I want to pay. I know the 13s are not in the $40s yet, that's why I have not even thought about looking for one. I won't be ready to buy until sometime in 2014, not January, but maybe spring or summer. I would love to have before Mustang Week if possible.
