I need to find an oem slave spacer. I have been told that they came on the 2011 and 2012's. My 13 didn't have one. Does anyone know where I can buy one?

thanks

You can make make one out of just about anything solid. I've seen people use duct tape and cardboard.

Just keep building up the tape till it's the right thickness.

^ Will that help with my 2-3 shift? I'm afraid if I add cardboard and tape I'll lose that precise feel of the MT-82

Careful dont put a spacer in a place where it doesnt belong. You can tear up clutch pretty quickly...my 12 gt mt-82 did not have a tob spacer.

Only the earlier 2011 MT82s had the spacer. The casing in the transmissions was changed and the spacer was no longer necessary. I changed a clutch in a local guys car not too long ago and took some pictures for reference.

Enjoy

I have a magnum xl and no spacers needed for me. My understanding is that some twin disc clutches require spacers. I have a single disc spec 3+ clutch and i had a brand new stock slave installed therefore no spacers required!

My 2011 had the spacer. I'm doing the Jpc Magnum xl swap. It says not to use the spacer on 2011 & up with the t56/Magnum. I know of one guy that did use the spacer on his t56 & it worked fine at first. When he power shifted it it got stuck in gear. He had to send it back to Tremec for a rebuild.

You guys are confusing the spacer from the MT82 with a shim for a slave cylinder.

The MT82 case in the earlier 2011 mustangs was too shallow for the 05+ slave cylinder that ford uses. As such, they included a spacer for the first batch of transmissions that were built but they subsequently had a new case machined which had the proper spacing.

In these pictures you can clearly see the difference in depth in the old vs new style MT82 case.

If you have a T56, you will NOT need to use the spacer, regardless of what year car you have because the issue was with the MT82 casing, and not the slave cylinder.

Ok so its the case spacer you do not use when swapping to the Magnum. What about the smaller shim/spacer for the slave?

You should always measure the air gap when installing a clutch. Different clutch manufacturers recommend different values. Generally speaking though, the RXT and RST go right in and do not need a shim behind the slave.
