Spec SS break in ?

Hey guys,

I just got a Spec SS clutch, GM synco mesh fluid and a OEM slave cyl put in, I have put about 250 miles on it so far just easy driving. It has a clatter/shutter when taking off in 1st and shakes the car.... it has been getting better since I picked it up but what's the recommend milage before I can give it hell and that noise goes away?

Spec would like to see a 500 mile break-in, according to their paperwork.

I took the full 500 miles on my SPEC P trim then gave it hell on the strip. Chatter gets much better as it breaks in too.

I did not! Car took getting used to however!

Mine had the same chatter after install and concerned me too, but after about 500 to 1,000 miles it is pretty much non existent now.

That clutch can take a ton of abuse. Follow the break in period and then run the heck out of it. The more action and heat you give it the better it gets.

Amazing, It use to have a small grind when very cold from 1-2 and now it has nothing, shifts way smoother. I love it

+1.Clutch took awhile for break-in but it sure can handle everything you give it now.
