Like most owners, I find myself wanting the Heaton to scream louder. In these next coming weeks I'm finally getting rid of the stock pizza pulley and going with a 2.76 upper/stock lower/BF idlers.. should I be expecting a drastic difference in blower noise as in..scream louder? I know it won't compare to a port but I'm just curious for those running 2.76 uppers, how big was the screaming difference from stock?

Note that I'm also running stingers and a Bassani X so its hard enough hearing it until I hit the high RPM's lol

I have a 2.9 on my stock Eaton and it's just as loud if not louder than my buddies ported Eaton car. I removed my hood insulation, and removed the hood vent flaps and that made a pretty big difference as well. I do have a catted midpipe though, so I'm sure that helps muffle the exhaust and make the whine more noticeable.

man whats with all the threads about hearing the eatons lately? Changing the pulley will increase blower rpm so it should give u some more sound and power. I had a 2.8 on my stock eaton and i could hear it plenty fine. I had the hood insulator removed and hood vents open with a magnaflow catback.

just as the others have said....YES...it will whine louder.

once you swap to a smaller upper, you will then be able to hear your eaton without even getting into boost. not saying its going to scream while you are not in boost....but i can assure you...you WILL hear it. then once you ARE in boost, it will scream even louder (than what it does now), from it being spun so much faster than it had been before.

I just went to a 2.93 last weekend. The whine is noticeably louder, but not OMFG loud. If you don't have a pulley puller, I have one listed in the Market section.

Remove the hood insulation, vent flaps, get an intake that is more open than the stocker...and yes that 2.76 pulley will make your eaton scream.

The only downside I had once I got my pulley swapped out was that the next several tanks of gas seemed to disappear quickler than usual. Of course, it was completely my fault by wanting to hear the eaton all the time. Just fair warning though :)

another thread to get a lounder whine, and my same response, in addition to the above comments, add a CAI such as a JLT.

Ported Eaton w/ 2.76. Add this, and enjoy additional power and whine

Its a very loud. I found my 2.76 to be a bit louder than my 2.8. And an Amsoil air filter will make it even louder! No joke.

of course.. the car is only making 448/400.. that tq is not acceptable lol

I cant afford to put aside the money for a port or twin screw so a pulley is the cheapest way to get the most power out of it
