Some of you remember when I did the magnum conversion and I was unhappy with the shifting. I finally switched back to stock shifter and started using Tremec MTF (fluid)----what a difference!!!. Well one thing I didnt mention is that I had gone through 2 after market reverse lock out electronic modules, they both burnt out after short usage, so I was stuck with muscling it into reverse and I didnt want to do the jerry-rigged reverse solenoid modification with a softer spring or wiring to the brake switch---------So I ended up finding this company who makes a delete that works. They were selling them on Ebay and I bought one, at the time they were selling two different ones--At first It didnt work for me. Im not going to go into the technical part but my son modified one on a lathe and it worked but was not ideal so I got in contact with one of the manufactures owners and I ended up having input on the design of their new one and did some testing for them on my car. The end results is it works on all Magnums and 6060s. The company is based in Tennessee and makes specialty parts for performance cars. The new one works so good !!!!, it feels like a normal transmission going into reverse without needing a reverse lockout. Even though its not a lock out it would be hard to go into reverse without trying. I totally recommend this product and company, I have no connection to them except for testing the new unit out. I see on ebay there is a copy cat company selling them but have no idea if they are the same or work as well as this one.---------- T-56 / TR-6060 Reverse Solenoid Delete | RDE Motorsports
They are not the same as modifying the factory reverse lock out, they are more precision and exacting for the application. One thing I forgot to mention, they come with an option of a softer spring or a heavier spring, Im using the softer spring that it comes with installed, you might need to change to the heavier spring if your power/speed shifting into 5th gear.
Oh and regarding the reverse lock out modules, they are a crap shoot, not only did they both fail but when they were still working they both caused problems with my Idle and computer. The unit is made by the company Wirebarn and its sister company Samoco and their units are re-branded and sold by Summit, Jegs, American power train and others, they are all the same unit but with a different label glued on.
