And just like that my gf's parents traded in their Lightning because they got stranded... did 40% of advertised range, the fast charger took 2 hours to get another 30% and bam... they now have a Powerboost coming.
I’m sure adding double the technology won’t have any failures at all.

Time will tell. I wouldn’t want to be on the hook for a new battery when it’s time. Hot potato!

I agree, and not doubting the statements at all.
i wanted to chime in as well as all i have left is my bmw i3 on the EV front...something needs to be said about the lies Ford told regarding the Mach E. The dealers were telling everyone there was a 2 year wait and justifying ADM with such nonsense...now they lowered the price by huge margins and Mach-E is all over the place for 10-20k less than they were just a few months ago...
I got rid of mine JUST IN TIME...my brother was not so lucky and lost a massive amount on his.
bottom line after having owned a bunch of EV's...they have potential but they are not the solution...we need to keep pushing BOTH ICE and EV for a really long time. The ICE tech is so good today that emissions are a mute point. The EV tech needs to catch up specifically in cold weather.

Source? How about I literally heard/read 80% of that stuff myself (born in 64, so obviously did not "read" any of it until at least 8 years oldish). Popular mechanics had tons of stories about most of this BS (especially the ice age crap), if you are old enough to have read it back in the day.
Not possible, we will be "oil free" way before that (or the planet will end, AGAIN!!), won't be anything made of plastic.
