Looks like downtown Oakland is getting looted. Chase, CVS and others are all getting windows smashed.
I guess I am off there but I don't think they will get called up unless it drastically escalates tonight or tomorrow. Burning a few stores isn't enough, but they will call them up if people start getting dragged out of their cars and beaten or if violent confrontations start happening more often during the looting. From my recollection, the LA riots were still far more violent than what we are seeing now. Putting active duty units on notice is just standard procedure but I don't think we have seen enough yet for them to get deployed. It's going to take a lot more fire or a lot more violence.
Seems no city has control right now. Looters are active in multiple cities. Again, looters, not protesters. I just saw KILL COPS spray painted in Oakland. Folks on live stream are saying stuff like "down with capitalism, it's time we get our, these are OUR streets now!"
I'm waiting for ANTIFA to make their move, if they haven't already. They seem to have been awfully quiet lately so it makes me wonder what they are planning. They have made some threats but no action.
I'm not doubting they would ever call up active duty, but I'm just saying that it is going to take a lot more than what we are seeing so far. I was with 3/1 and we did riot training and the training was based around all out contact. They would split us up as rioters and LE and run scenarios where they told the rioters to do pretty much whatever they wanted and we had to defend and take control. It was essentially like watching a battle as dudes would come running and drop kick right into the shields while others would try to get through the line to compromise it and break up the line. The riots we have seen the last couple years have been pretty soft as far as the rioters taking on the cops, just a couple instances where they pushed back against the cops but they were never able to overwhelm them. An infantry battalion will get activated when those instances become lopsided against the cops and they start to lose.
With adrenalin pumping low oxygen, heart failure killed him. The man was 6'6 face down with his hands behind his back. Throw in some Oxy or some other drugs, its lights out even for the healthiest. Most Police are trained to avoid this issue.View attachment 1643343

I'm just saying it seems every city with looting, is powerless. I'm watching some famous mural painter in downtown LA: Login • Instagram
10 officers marched by, saying to leave the area...and not 45 seconds after they walked by, folks smashed more windows in the starbucks and are stealing coffee and such
Essentially they are powerless which is why they are not engaging to stop it. Just hoping it will burn itself out rather than fight it and make it worse. As long as they don't set the whole city on fire and cause a mass casualty event then they will just try to maintain it as much as possible and let it run its course.
But we had Minneapolis first. Then last night was St Paul and a little but of other cities. Tonight we have like 6-12 major US cities. Seems to be increasing, like "Hey let's go looting tomorrow."
I like to think they will get lazy and stop....but I'm not feeling that.
You "hang the cop now" people are in for a rude awakening if you think the officer is going to see any significant jail time. If the autopsy reports in the news are correct, as well as the reports that the "knee to the neck" is a legit practice with this PD, his attorneys are going to have a field day. They are going to bring all kinds of reasonable (and legit) doubt as to the cause of death, and they will rightfully point lots of fingers at department policy and training when it comes to taught and practiced restraint of a combative subject.
He is being charged with murder and manslaughter just like I predicted. That's because they are trying to bring calm and show the public they are "pursuing justice." But, the murder won't stick. I'm no longer convinced that even the manslaughter will stick if the autopsy and PD policy reports are true. Either he will be found "not guilty" two years from now and we will have more rioting, or they will quietly plead this thing down a year from now when it has left the news.
So let me get this straight. There is a pandemic going on right now, such that, the virus can be spread easily through asymptomatic carriers. A lot of these states shut down large gatherings and businesses in order to slow and stop the spread. Now these morons are rioting? Amazing LOL.
Not all are rioting.
Give the folks liberty or give the folks death.
Something very wrong has happened that has moved civilians enough to hazard their all.
Oh, you mean rioting to rob businesses that are already facing tough times due to covid-19? That is just rubbing salt in the wound. Not all are rioting.
Give the folks liberty or give the folks death.
