The Japanese car companies are definitely not on the EV bus for many reasons obvious to all but the Green Insane.
With the EV buses mentioned by @derklug, I see that top front display being prominent too many times. LOL.When I lived in Vegas a lot of the public transportation busses ran on Natural Gas.

I was looking for kicks at the Hyundai Nexo hydrogen powered SUV. Interesting alternative fuel vehicle but as was stated in another thread, hydrogen is expensive to produce and is in short supply. Hyundai gives buyers 3 years free hydrogen, but I assume you'd have to go to a dealership to fuel up. Really, at this point, gas powered vehicles should be the priority. We are NOT ready for a switch to electric. EVs or some other fuel power for the distant future, but not until the grid (if EV) has been built to easily and reliably handle the demand long term. The industry is pushing to hard for something we haven't yet properly prepared for. I think it's great that Toyota is speaking up and pushing back. Imagine if every automaker revolted and said NO MAS and refused to comply. Won't happen, of course, but, what if?
I never once saw one in Vegas that said not in service. The nat gas were all over the place transporting passengers. That photo has no driver inside so it will certainly read not in service.

All the waste management and a bunch of the beer distributors run on natural gas here.
an ICE powered automated side arm truck that picks up your curb side cans costs around 350k and will do around 1200 cans in a route. The equivalent EV truck is around 700k without the charger and will do around 700 cans in a day.
