Have fun on your trip. Don't forget to bring us back pictures!

No down falls that I can remember..... wait, didn't that one high school girl from Alabama disappear in Costa Rica? Or is that somewhere else I'm thinking of?

^^^no, that was one of the caribbean islands that the girl disappeared from...

Costa Rica is Beautiful, I have been there several times and I am going back in the next few months. If you tell us where your going I can give you a better idea of what to expect, but basically the country is beautiful, the people are friendly, the food is great, and the surf is awesome! It's one of those places that you can't have a bad time at. They have plenty of things to do from a nightlife in San Jose, to whitewater rafting, Zip-Lining, waterfalls, mountain climbing, active volcanoes, hot springs, beautiful uncrowded beaches, canyoning, and I could go on and on...

only thing I have been told when I go there, and it's really just good advise for anytime you travel is to make sure to lock your rental car/ hotel doors when your not in them and don't leave anything out in the open to temp someone to steal it (although I have never had a problem with theft while there)

The locals there are some of the nicest people and welcoming to tourists out of anywhere I've seen.

Are you staying in an all-inclusive by chance?

Edit: And the ATV tours are awesome, but I always do those everywhere I go :D

I'm very jealous. Of all the cool trips my grandmother has taken, Costa Rica/The Galapagos was her absolute favorite.

Not a good idea to put when your house will be empty. next time leave the date off and just put the place. To many people looking for empty houses to break into.

Went to Costa Rica last year, I stayed in Manuel Antonio. Great place to travel to. Be careful of the cops and some of the people at shady bars and casinos in San Jose. If you rent a car down there make a copy of your drivers license, if you get pulled over tell them that's all you have. Some of the cops might hold it and try to bribe you.

I got in a somewhat bad incident down there, but it was a bad judgment call on my part. I left with some locals to a "disco tech" in a not so nice part of town. I got held up by a bunch of local nuts asking me for money, when I got in my car to leave they started throwing rocks at my car. Not knowing where I was I took off down a one way street that dead ended, I panicked and tried backing out slightly dinging a fruit cart partially on the road.

The owner of the fruit cart started chasing after my car, a cop saw it and stopped me. I gave the owner of the fruit cart 20,000 colones, (about $40) and he of course took off happy. I still was asked to follow local police to the station and was held for 5 hours while they confirmed my passport information.

Other than that it was an awesome trip and I plan on going back. Besides the beaches and bars there is a bunch of cool stuff to do down there.

yeah, manuel antonio is really nice! But since you'll be in Tambor, make sure you go to Islas Tortugas, it a beautiful island that is just a short boat ride from there... it's beautiful white sand beaches are awesome (and way cooler then the dark sand in the middle of the day! hot!) Costa rica is a whole other world, and Tortugas Island is a world away from that world... Crap, your making me jealous that your leaving so soon. I keep saying I going to go there one day and just never come back

Have a great time. Costa Rica doesn't seem to be a regular vacation destination, but from everything posted above it sounds like a near perfect place to visit. Take lots of pics and share some of them with us when you return. Enjoy! :)

I will take lots of pics. I went to the bank today and asked them what the currency was and,

$1 US dollor = Around $580 sum dollors

I thought that was crazy!!!
