has anyone went the vortech type blower route in place of the eaton instead of a twin screw? can't find links or articles for results and graphs to compare.

Not many PD blower guys are willing to give up the low and mid-range torque to a centrifugal blower which is why you don't see many making this conversion.

Lots of NE Cobra guys take this route because they are easy to install and relatively inexpensive.

I have driven both.
Centrifugal aren't near as much fun on the street as a PD blower.
They make great power up in the rpms and can do well at the track but for a DD/toy no thank you.
Instant amounts of torque is a wonderful thing.

it all depends on your driving style

I've owned several of each and I love anything quick

the 4valves love rpm' and that's why they respond well to centrifugal blowers

do a search. You have to change around a lot of things to make a centri work. From converting to air to air to even changing the lower intake manifold that works with a blower like that. stock one is not good.

Amen

The "part throttle response" is where the PD blower really shines :) Take a quick jab at the throttle of a centrifugal or turbo car and nothings happens  The Eaton or a twin screw car is more akin to driving a 4 wheeled Howitzer :-D

Anyone who wants the torque can just run a tiny pulley with a vacuum activated wastegate... think like turbo, act like a turbo. Over pulley the F out of it, and vent the boost that you don't want to hit the MAF... simple stuff really, and improves mid range while still putting a PD blower to shame on the big end (LB for LB, of course).

But hey, different strokes for different folks.... although the arguments from Centr and PD camps are tiring.

EDIT*** WHOA, sorry for the resurrection.

Yup under 4K rpms my Vortech is passive but past that to 7K it's beastly..
