Well, I drove the cobra to Myrtle Beach, SC and back over the weekend. 630ish miles one way. I have made this trip about a dozen times the past year, in a 03 duramax, 00 silvy, 91 escort, on an 06 gsxr 600, 03 Sv1000S, 07 Vstar 1100, and an 06 CBR1000RR and the Cobra. I have to say, the Cobra, aside from the WAY TO LOUD exhaust, is and was by-far the most COMFORTABLE vehicle I've taken. I averaged 22.24 mpg the entire way and back. The car was comfortable, stable, and a thrill to drive that far. I filled up every 200 miles and gave my legs a stretch. I will be changing out the MAGNAPACK catback in the future, but aside from that, I'll gladly make the trip again with the car, in about 2 months.

By the way, the car puts around 520rwhp thru the eaton, and I walked a shelby 500 on 295 just outside of richmond!! Not sure if he can't drive or what, but I pulled him HARD and he left first. Also played with an 07ish R6 (with the moto GP style exhaust) and a few C5's and Z06's, and one C6 Z. The C6Z did walk me, but I think with a bit of spray I'll even the playing field and he won't walk so hard!! I remember last year pulling on a C6Z with the whipple. Now that I'm back on the eaton, the C6Zs seem three times as fast...WOW!

*went to eaton as I work on my next setup...built TT!!* Just so you didn't have to ask.

i drive my benz on long trips with 23 gal tank and agv. 20 mpg thats over 400 miles per tank.quiet and lots of leg room

I agree, the Cobra is great on highway trips. Mine is also loud but not as bad as the Magnapacks. I have taken it to the Outer Banks of NC from PA a few times. I drive down at night usually on a week night. Running between 70 and 90 I have gotten as much as 27 mpg. "But officer I get better mileage when I go fast" :dw: The car just hums and it is comfortable. The only problem is remembering not to go too fast.

i have magnaflows with longtubes and o/r x on my car. highway cruising and normal city driving the car is whisper quiet. but when you get on the loud pedal all bets are off and it just screams.

Sounds like you have one mean Terminator there. 520rwhp is a nice kick in the pants, isn't it? I'll bet that GT-500 was stock or near stock (about 400 lbs. more than yours and less power = a loss). Have fun! Be safe! :)

I definitely don't envy you for having to make that trip a few times on a bike.

My favorite part about road trips with the Cobra is after you've been crusing in 6th for awhile and you get someone who wants to play, or you have to downshift to pass, or come to a stop or whatever I love feeling the power after crusing for so long at a set speed. <-- I hope that all made sense

Nice, when I brought my Cobra back from Jacksonville it was about 500 mile trip back...It was the best roadtrip of my life with me being in the Cobra with my dad...another great part of the trip was when my dad said he had to feel the power of the car, so he drove the car from the purchase site to the airport to return the rental car that I was driving...the whole way to the airport I was cruising with him in the rental car and being like, "Hell yeah...that's my F'en Cobra, woowee!"

i'll be back down...don't worry about that.

the bike ride wasn't that bad and I"ll be doing it this year on my newest bike. I got some soft luggage that goes on and off in about 5 mins, so it makes it nice when you have a back to rest your chest on, your helmet hits the windshield, your legs got a place to stretch...basically, I lay down the entire way not having to support my body, with a throttle lock, so I can alternate holding the bars with one hand only...it's nice.
