Sick. Given she has a point, "why work when you don't have too" but hey, lets **** over military retirements.
I know a girl that is a hair dresser and does hair from her home. Since her job is a cash business she reports very little income and receives food stamps and maybe even welfare. She has 1 brand new vehicle, 1 not very old vehicle, a rent payment more than my mortgage was, works when she wants, is able to travel, and have it way better than I do.
$17 trillion and counting.
This is precisely why there needs to be a strong work requirement for welfare benefits. There are people that actually do need help and benefits. People like the lady in the audio posted above leach those benefits and make it harder to help those actually in need.
A strong work requirement with drug screenings should be mandatory to be on state or federal assistance. These benefits were never meant to be utilized long term. They were meant as a cushion so that when you fall you can get back up.

I question the validity of that interview. She claims to be an illegal immigrant but sounds like a normal texas woman with no audible foreign accent?
Welfare is a huge problem but that seems to have a political agenda behind it. The radio host throws out the Obama phone question right on que too.

I've always thought that with the infrastructure of this country faltering that there was always something that these folks could do to trade their "services" for received "goods". I see trash needing picked up, buildings needing cleaning/painting, community services needing helping hands, elderly folks needing company and help with everyday needs... There is SOMETHING that these folks should be required to do to earn that money, IMO... Don't perform the job to necessary standards, lose your benefits,... Don't show up for work, lose your benefits... Smoke weed or do other drugs, lose your benefits...

I'm gonna quit my job, get my section 8 housing, odumbo phone, food stamp card, welfare check, and have the gubberment pay my electric and water bill. Il keep my termi and mod it with my sales from food stamps. Winning!

She said she WAS an American citizen. And who cares, she's living on barely anything, in a shit hole apartment, pos car, Obama flip phone, I really don't care where my tax dollars go, no way around paying them. She has a point, the system is the problem. She wont have anything worth having unless she earns it, and she has 3 kids? $400 a month or whatever in food stamps, that doesn't feed a family of 5 for a month.
If you sit back and look, she said her parents were on welfare, so she really never stood a chance herself, and now her kids are doomed as well. We're always going to pay high taxes, who cares if it goes to worthless scum like this, or outrageous military contracts.
edit: I checked the ss website, and looked at what I've made and paid in taxes, doesn't surprise me, in 2012 I paid over 25k in taxes, I don't think I got much of anything back if anything I cant even remember, when anyone with a kid just automatically gets 3-4grand, thx GWB.

Of course theres political agenda behind it; the Democrats rely on the welfare for their voting base, and they continually try to expand it by offering additional services and incentives. How many millions will turn Democrapic once they get their $10/hr minimum wage bump (30% in some areas)?
Check my posts on my feelings about the Liberal/Socialist/Democratic agenda, I agree whole heartedly.
I disagree about the minimum wage part to a certain extent though. Most already making minimum wage are probably already voting Democratic anyway. :shrug:
Most making minimum wage just started with their first vote cast in their entire life last election, you mean. Democratic, Republican, didn't and still doesn't mean a single thing to them, just a bunch of letters that form a word they don't understand.
Your hugely mistaken if you think they make it by with 400/month in foodstamps. A family of 5 in NC with no income will probably get close to $800-$1000 in foodstamps alone if they work the system right. Some people have found a way to have the right number of kids claimed (not saying all those kids are theirs) and can get over 50k a year in help. That's more than most people on this site make, including myself.
That's just what she said she said she was getting in stamps I believe. To which my response is how in the world could anyone make it by with that with a family of 5.
An ex friend of mine who is just like this woman here, his wife was getting like 600-700 a month with 2 kids, and he didn't work etc, and getting SSI like 800 a month.
edit: When I was traveling and getting $550 a week per diem, I lived on probably 25 a week for food no problem.
