Me and my girlfriend were hunting for a 99-04 Mustang GT for her yesterday. While I was at it, I also did some hunting for my own GT500. We were basically shopping for cars for ourself. I also saw a middle age women stalled 4 times at Arlington VA with a BRAND NEW Shelby GT (325HP version) at stop light. She wouldn't pull up next to me at a red light because I was going to light her up in my LS2 GTO. She stayed 1 car length behind.
Here's the most interesting and funniest story of the day at apple ford at Columbia, MD. They also have a Shelby GT in stock at 10k ADM in showroom for those who interested. The manager told me that they are buying Shelby coupe @ 10-11k over sticker price from other dealers and resell them at 15k over sticker to make quick 3-4k bux. :bash: I gave apple Ford my piece that 60k is at vette's z06 territory and Z06 = better car. He reponsed with me that "corvette is a production car" while GT500 is a "special made" car with limited production. I reminded him about 8k-10k a year for 4-5 years anouncement from Ford. Ford will make about 40k Shelby when it is all done. Last time I saw GTO production from 04-06 was only 45k with 15k for 04, 12k for 05 and 13k for 06. My Blue M6 GTO is only one of 1577 blue for year 2006. My friend who bought a F-150 a truck from them on Saturday said he saw two GT500 pulled out of Apple Ford lot this past weekend. Saleman told him that they paid 60k for them. 60k would be 15k over sticker so it is independent source to verify that it is true. Dealers are buying and selling like stock.
Bob Bell Ford = they last sold a coupe @ 10k over sticker a month or so ago and they just sold a Converible at only 5k over sticker. Saleman was pretty good guy. He told me something interesting that converible ADM is coming down quicker than coupe because 9 out of 10 guys want a coupe.
Lindsey Ford at Wheaton told me that they got 1 GT500 so far and it was sold to a "owner's friend" at an "undisclosed price". :bash:
Then I went to Norris Ford and they told me that they have list of people of 25 at 10k over sticker for GT500. No MSRP list. Norris Ford CURRENTLY has a Shelby GT at 10k ADM in the show room in stock. Too bad I want more than 325 HP. It is a nice looking car but it is not for me.
