555's......LOL

What size are the R888's? If it's warm outside and they're relatively new, you'll hook up 2nd and 3rd pretty good. But 1000 miles wear and sub 60 temps you'll spin them. Regardless, still probably the best choice you can make as far as a compromise between "some fun" grip....but not so much you're going to bust driveline parts

I went with the 315/35/17's, I hope I can get by without spacers.

I had Mickey Thompsons on the car and they did hook for a while but I began to kind of notice a vibration that got worse and worse. I pulled the Mickey's off and they're worn unevenly like the tires weren't round....they basically have some flat spots on them.

The Mickeys hooked good, but are a pretty crappy tire. A quick google search of Mickey Thompson wobble shows that its some what common that their tires are out of round.

Awesome. Leaps and bounds better than any setup I've head including stock.

It's high performing without being punishing.

Okay, started my exhaust polishing project. Thanks to 04sleepers thread on how to do it.

Here it is. You can see why this needs to be done lol.

Here is during. This is the left side after a red scotch brite pad and a degreaser and stage one 600 grit. Right side has not been touched yet.

I'm going to tackle this in stages. Too much for me to do all at once.

I hear you Bob. That's exactly why I'm starting now AND putting the diecast aside for now.

I should have this done in a couple of weeks. I already ordered new band clamps and rubber hangers as mine were dry rotted. I'll clean up the gas tank cover and a few other things under there and it should look pretty good once it's done.

I'm not looking to win anything major, but it sure would be nice to leave San Diego with at least a plaque LOL.

Okay, hit the left tailpipe with 600 again today to get it as smooth as possible. These pipes are 10 years old. So, I'm knocking out all the road grim and as many nicks and dings as I can.

If any of you ever wonder why your chromer or polisher charges so much just try tackling this job LMAO.

Here's the left compared to the right. It's a lot of work, but it's getting there.

A little late but put 400 miles on the car in a weekend and participated in the UMI Performance autocross/cruise-in. Got some good pointers from some heavy hitters in Optima/Autocross, debated selling the car after riding along in a Z06 and then ordered Koni Yellows and Eibach swaybars all in 2 weeks time!

Okay finished the left tailpipe

I didn't do the play by play as the how to thread has all that.

So, here's the left side after 1000, 1500 and 2000. These stages go really quick if you spend more time with the 600.

And here it is after I polished it with mothers mag polish and a 4 inch cotton wheel on a drill. Not bad for 10 year old pipes. .... There's only one problem... Now I need to do the other one LOL.......

Thank you TXCobra! Yes, it is a lot of work (I'm not looking forward to the right side LMAO). However, I'm very pleased with the results so far.

huge difference

Thank you C6! I'm actually using your sig pic as motivation. When I'm done I'm going to post something that will look VERY familiar to you LOL.
