I am just curious what everyone is using with the Reiche 170 thermostat. It was recommended by unleashedbeast that I run Amsoil ss 10-30 but I was considering doing Penzoil ultra 0-40 for now.

I do. No issues thus far. It really is also dependent on how you hard you run your car.

Yeap.
Ran Amsoil 10w40 with the old motor. Switching to Amsoil Dominator 10w30 on this one.

Is it not a good idea to run the motorcraft stock oil with a 170 thermostat?
So much of this oil stuff is such a load of crap, don't drink the cool aid from salesmen trying to make a buck off your fears. :nonono:
IMO, not even with the stock t-stat but especially with the 170. Switch to 10w30 or 10w40 if you road course the car.
The load of crap was the oil reports I was getting from running the motorcraft. :??:

Yes, with the amsoil 10w30 and it looked good. It's already been added to UB's oil chart but I'm too lazy to look it up right now.
