It is that time of year when all of us get antsy with cabin fever and look to our garages as an outlet. Anyone have big mod plans?

On my ZL1 I am adding a 2650 and a bigger fuel pump. I already did port injection so it is plug and play. Also adding a lid to the new supercharger. This will take me from 850 to 1050 (at only 17 lbs!).

Additional power requires more rubber so adding some 18" BC forged with 555rs in back and 888rs in front.

My ZR1 has a new built motor in it. I was thinking of adding a 2650 and 1700c injectors but think I will keep the 2300. I am at 950 at only 17 lbs right now so there is plenty of room. The 2650 setup would take me to 1200 which I am frankly not interested in.

So now thinking of a pulley and a new lid to get me to 1050 or so.

What are yall doing?

Just waiting to April to fix my minor problem with the Benz mostly burnt out dash light, trip odometer gears, and dash clock, then to see which radio fuze blew as the radio was playing a tape and it just up and stopped working and it is a fuze as the power antenna control swich also has stopped working and was told that is a sure fire way that it is the fuze and not the actual radio.

Ur not messing around Klaus. I love the ZL1. Wish I bought that over the Redeye Challenger.

Those things with the Magi are insanely fast! Crazy good platform! Wow built motor to huh thats no joke that things gonna be fast AF even with the 2300.

That Kong lid is the cats ass. I would opt for the 2650 be a lot less stress on that blower to make power. But a 1000 hp is plenty..... for now.

Must be great to make that power and still smash corners at 120 mph lol. Thing is literally a world class sports car..... Freaking love the way it looks to especially them LED lights up front just badass!

You would be amazed at how cool the 2300 stays with lid/bricks/expansion tanks. Pass after pass with no heat soak.

The mighty mouse LT4 blower on the other hand is great after one pass but needs 20 minutes to cool down.

Gen 6 ZL1 is the best of modern muscle cars IMO. A 10A TTd 416 stroker would be the SHIT.

CD player in the new F250............ :p

Had this thing jammed in the cubby below the 8" center screen, for the past couple months.

Works on center screen and even steering wheel controls.

I guessed that there might be some extra space back behind that cubby, and was right. (tons of trim has to come off to get center screen trim out though)

Cut out back of that cubby.

4 screws on bottom of unit have to come out.

and front fascia can carefully be pried out.

You can now move "guts" of CD player over, one way or the other, and tap side of plastic case.

Used some angle brackets I had lying around to mount it.

All mounted up. About as far as I got (I did permanently mount the digital voltmeter to the left there, I have tied into my trailer brake signal wire).

Looks like I'm replacing a hub bearing on the Cobra when I'm off for Christmas. I should really figure out what's up with the seats in my truck.

I have to clean the garage first just to get to the car
Seems like the catch all area of the house for all impromptu trips to Sams and Costco

Klaus, why the Toyo 888r up front, and the Nitto 555r out back?
I only ask because I plan on going 888r out back.

That’s a good question, I’m all ears myself on this one.

I need more tire at >1000 whp. I currently run a 888r on a 19 on that car at 850whp. GREAT tire. It hooks great at that power level.

My tuner wanted me to go with a 17 MT but I still want to corner. I think a 18 555r is halfway between a 888r and a MT.

Definitely don't do the MTs. I have them now and they vibrate bad on the highway after a couple seasons.

Getting the race car running after spending a summer + of fixing machine shop screw ups. Adding to the self inflicted pain by deciding to switch from a FAST XFI to a Holley Dominator EFI. And just when I think I have that all sorted out, decide to change from a Distributor to Coil near plug ignition. And once the engine is up and running, I am going to pull off the 2.8L Kenne Bell and bolt on a 4.2L Kenne Bell, which will require more modifications. It never ends.

When the shop is done gonna pull the blower and find out where the blower coolant in my lower intake is coming from, gonna add a triple pass heat exchanger inline before my killer chiller, new engine mounts, switching to a cobra alternator, turning the voltage regulator off in the tune, relocate my trans cooler, and start figuring out how I want to design my hood for max heat extraction.
