Shaftmasters Inc has sold 1000's of single piece aluminum Mustang driveshafts.
There are several factors that can contribute to shaft failure. From "shock load" to exhaust components (i.e. aftermarket clamps etc.) making contact with the driveshaft.
As far as the shaft pictured in this post. We are fairly certain that something contacted the shaft and caused the failure.
We would also like to point out that this particular shaft was covered and replaced under warranty.
Actually, a replacement shaft was sent to the vehicle owner despite the fact that he was not the original purchaser.
Checkout the results of an independent torque test, if you are interested.
