I would wait for the 1080ti to come out, its less then a month away from release and its possible the price of the 1080 will drop because of it

While this is true, that also means the value of my 1070 goes down as well. Always a catch. Lol

I honestly think my biggest bottleneck, so to speak, is my cheap 1920x1080 60Hz monitor. I feel like my games are all laggy/stuttering (for lack of a better descriptor). Looking at some 1920x1080 144Hz with G-Sync monitors.

Oh they just announced the 1080ti at $699 and a price drop on the regular 1080 to $499

Bastards.

The 1080Ti is also supposed to be available very soon, possibly by Monday.

In real world gaming performance, nVidia is also claiming that the 1080Ti will either match or most likely surpass the Titan XP.

I doubt I'll be springing for a 1080 Ti anytime soon. I've also read a lot that says to stray away from the FE cards anyway.

nVidia is opening up the 1080Ti to manufacturers to develop their own custom designs from the get go. These will not be like Titan XP which can only be purchased from the nVidia website, on a reference design board.

Oh I figured as much, but I imagine it'll take longer than I'm willing to wait and will cost a good bit more than the FE.

Titans are overrated simply because of the $1,200 price tag. One could run 1080s in SLI for cheaper than one Titan, or three GTX 1070s! Not that either option would be viable since not all games support a multi-GPU setup, but if you're not into modeling, rendering, etc., Titans are a waste.

Well, looking at the "reputable" "leaks" of the upcoming Ryzen processors, it looks like if you are just gaming, Ryzen is nothing special, mostly losing to the 7700K. Yes, I know that clock speeds are different, but it looks as if the Ryzen is having a hard time overclocking much above 4.1 GHz.

If you use your PC for development or video stuff, Ryzen is hands down the best option.

Optimization in games is definitely going to skew the results sadly. This is a place where Nvdia and Intel have always had an advantage. From my experience, games that work well in AMD platforms, also work well in Intel's side. When it's the other way around, you can always see AMD gets shit on.

Either way, competition is good for us, I am tired of the garbage progress Intel has made during the last 5 years and their insane prices. Reminds me of the 2005-2010 Mustang.

I know it's not much, but I'd like to offer my old keyboard/mouse combo and RGB case lighting (both can be seen above) to anyone who wants to pay for the ride. It's just a little way I'd like to give back. See descriptions and pictures below:

The keyboard/mouse is a Devastator II from Cooler Master. It features solid green back lighting in both (no special effects).

Also up for grabs is my old Logisys 12" RGB LED strip made for the inside of a case. Will include everything needed for plug and play installation (might want to grab some double sided tape though).

I just bought new desktop and if you still have the mouse/keyboard I'll defiently take them for shipping+a few bucks

I'm not into PC gaming at all but I think I got a good deal from my work to do some overtime at home, will just be used for Internet searching and youtube and twitch:

Dell Optiplex 7040:
i7-6700 3.4ghz-8mb cache
8gb ddr4 ram
500gb HD
Integrated graphics..blahhh
2- 23" dell monitors

How good are the integrated cards on these? Haven't been super deep into cards since windows 7 was new Lol

For what you are going to do it will be fine. Won't take you very far if you try to play modern games though.

You'll need more ram and a gtx 1080 to be able to play solitaire. Maybe dual GPU for minesweeper.

Also... "YOU'VE NOT ENOUGH MINERALS"

I'm more of a Cadet Pinball and Microsoft Paint kinda guy, so I'll need another monitor and a Flux capacitor with hardwired interface is what I'll need?

Nvidia didn't announce any price cuts to the 1070, so I doubt that will happen at this time. Suggest taking a step up to a 1440p monitor, I love my 27" 1440p 144hz Gsync panel!

I think for the time being, I'm stuck at 1080/144Hz. I just went full retard with this new build (at least in my opinion). Lol
