I can not find crap for the street combo I want

Was going to order 275/40/18 KDW2 for front and 285/40/18 KDW2 for rear but for whatever reason BFG does not make the 285/40 anymore.

What other options? Basically I want a wider tire up front but want to retain a factory 27" tire height all around and the 275/40 285/40 was it

These will be going on the black FRPP factory GT500 rims

Just ordered a new clutch from Lethal

Pirelli Pzero's are available...but at 404.00 a pop.

Did you check TireRack..there's a few there.

Also the Toyo T1R's are made in this size..excellent tire and popular in the M3 crowd.

PROXES T1R | Toyo Tires

Nitto 555's are available as well in both 275 and 285/40/18.

thx guys, are the NT555 on all 4 corners worth it?

I just don't think I want a true DR for my street tire. I plan on having 2 sets of rims and will put appropriate rubber out back on my factory set.

I will look into the toyo proxies, thanks!

I noticed some really good street tires but I would have to run a 275/40 all around

Chuck I don't know if you have a Discount Tire or America's Tires near you (same company) but they can order it.

There is also ..

Store

I think I saw it on there for $250.

Keep in mind Chuck there is about a 250-500 mile break in with the T1R's and they can be a tad squishy in the beginning. After a few good heat cycles and it burns off the chemical it uses to peel away from the molding, the tire will be wonderful..a pic of them on my E46 M3 one of the few I have left stored.

255/35/19's front and 285/30/19 rear on 19X9 and 19X10 RAC Monlites.

Oh, regarding wether to buy locally, I would always prefer to buy locally. The Discount Tires near my home didn't carry it but they got it in 2 days. Price was within $20 from the internet, however it includes mounting the tires.

Dave - that M3 has the perfect stance! You have the eye, my brother!

Tob

LOL, thanks man. I miss that car, I sold it to get the 997...wish I kept the E46 M3. Would have saved a boat load of money and it was a much better daily driver than the 997 is.

would you recommend the toyo for a heavy tq happy pig like the GT500 though ?

Good question Chuck..I would guess you should be fine. The Toyo's actually have a better speed rating as the GY's are rated at just 99W front and 96W rear. The Toyo's are 99Y and 101Y..so higher load rating as well as speed rating.

I have heard also great things about the toyo r888!
PROXES R888 | Toyo Tires

275/40 or 285/35. I would just do 275/40 all the way around rotate and get more life for your buck!

They come in perfect OEM fit for 997's and quite a few guys track with these and they love them.

What about some PZero Corsa's in 285's on all corners..they use these on GT2's and GT3's.

chuck how much HP/TQ are you running because if your pushing 560 plus there arent many tires other than like a DR that hook on the street.

Chuck both the r888 and the pzero corsa would have no problem sticking to the pavement even with the gt500 torque!

Michelin PS2, they have a 275/40/18 but not the rear 285/40/18, although they do have a 295/35/18. Damn good tire too, I've used them on the street and track, they hold up and perform very well; but yeah, they're expensive, but they're Michelin's... Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

I'm currently rolling on Toyo R888's, for a 100 UTQG R-Comp tire, they hold up very well and have excellent grip, also fairly impressive on wet pavement (not cold wet pavement...). But, I rode in a Griggs Mustang with Toyo RA-1's and they are a lot quieter then the R888's with equal, some say better, grip then the R888's.

Here's a online Toyo dealer Toyo Proxes R888 Tires - Tire Size & Price Details - 1010tires.com There are some new sizes in the Toyo RA-1 that these guys aren't listing??? You might want to call for more info.
