As of 2pm central time I started the rebuild process for the searchindex. Last time I did this it took about 22 hours to complete (then I had to promptly empty it again because it killed the database).

Anyway, until this process completes the forums will be very slow. You might even see some database errors occasionally, or your connection could time out.

That really not that bad when you consider how many times and how long it takes to keep rebooting a MS SQL Server.
Half a MS programmers career will be spent rebooting their computer.

Last time I checked the size it was around 2GB.
