Shit, sorry to hear that man. Automotive dealers repair shops are probably going to suffer big time. Any shop that relied on CP to make hours will hurt. Dealers that are in it for warranty work better pray there are enough people that want to get their cars fixed, even if its free.
We are feeling the hit HARD. Something like a 70% decrease in service business. At times we sit for hours without a vehicle coming in. Will probably get worse now that our county is "shelter in place". I'm 100% commission paid, I don't get anything for just being here.
That being said, we had a dealer meeting on tuesday and they announced some big changes that are going to help the employees. Perks of working for a large dealer. We are splitting into 2 teams and one team will work 2 days on then the other team 2 days on, to try and limit exposure with each other. We will be paid if we are here to work, its not the same money I normally make but its a hell of a lot better than I would be making with the business we have currently. No layoffs here, dealer is going to take care of everyone.
My wife on the other hand is sitting at home with our son, she does not have the option to work from home, so although she (thankfully) will have a job to return to, she will not be making any money for the foreseeable future.
