Doesn't the Evo 5.0 have an auto now? The last MMFF article on the Evo 5.0 said they were already on a second clutch install according to the article. That little $$$ tidbit gets left out it seems.
Rough figures it looks like about $42,000 in parts plus the car plus the labor to build it. That's got to be about $115,000 total! No profit. The Camaro has a built 6 spd trans, built LS9, and a 200 shot of nitrous. I guess they kept breaking rearend parts but wanted to keep the IRS so they had HD driveshafts made and a prototype differential. The Super Cobra Jets are running as fast as 8.7 or so with Liberty 5spd trannies but I don't know what the 6spd ones run, anyone that buys one isn't going to probably choose the 6spd.

I think it was running low 10's before the nitrous...
These guys with rice burners are always looking for ways to put us down. We bleed FORD BLUE baby. I don't give a f*** what others are running. At the end of the day go to the track and you'll see we are always the top dogs... looser
I was considering a Tundra until what I heard from the techs that work on them. It was kind a funny I was visiting a friend who's the head service tech at my Ford dealer. When I told him what I was thinking about he said come with me. We went across the street to the Toyota Service Center where he has allot of friends that work on the Tundra's and the stories and problems they talked about with the Tundra convince me to forget that thought. They even showed me a bed that caved in on customer carrying a load and it was a 2009 Tundra.
I'm not buying a 04 or earlier. earlier tundra's were rust buckets thats why they recalled them. I'am buying a 2011 and the F150's have no major problems to speak of, the Tundra's do from shaking beds, weak frames, cracked cam shafts, transmission problems, bed and tail gate problems the list goes on and on and these problems are on current models. The fords have no such problems on their current models. Next time you are at your Toyota dealer go ask the Techs they have the best info because they work on them everyday.
Lol, never listen to a tech. One of my customer is a Ford diesel tech. Oh the stories. But you have to take it with a grain of salt from anyone one of them because that's obviously all they do all day. He might see 3-5 vehicles a week, but probably not bad compared to how many are out there, for any brand.I was considering a Tundra until what I heard from the techs that work on them. For every ONE Tundra sold there are SIX F-Series trucks sold, so common sense will be if they have EQUAL issues MORE Fords will have issues because there are MORE OF THEM.

You've got a problem, you either don't read well or your ignorant. You should most likely quote people from now on rather then put words in there mouth. I didn't say it bottomed out I said "I could put 500#s of tools in the bed of the Toyota and you could barely drive it. It looked like it had 10,000#s in the bed." It drove that way too.I guess this thread is officially hijacked???
Some of you are missing the point. So far I haven't read ANYONE saying one brand is more reliable than the other. What I'm reading is they ALL have issues and some people have been burned by a particular make which caused a switch.
Some people haven't had any problems which tends to create loyalty (except for the made up story from that dick guy. 500lbs bottomed it out; yea right:rollseyes
As far as sales numbers, it's a moot point. You can't compare a "series" of trucks that includes well over a 1/2 dozen variations to one 1/2 ton model.
Until Ford makes the 6.2L available across the 150 line, there is no comparison in powertrain performance in the 1/2 ton segment. Some of us GT-500 owners seem to put performance a tad higher on the list than others.
I'll also reserve judgement until I see how the ecoboost V6 works in a full size truck.
It is refreshing to see Ford address its biggest deficit in this segment.

I've bought 4 new trucks since 2001 all have been Fords. I still own all of them. I've never had a problem out of them. The 20 years before that I purchased 14 trucks. Mostly GM products I don’t own any of those now. There may be a trend there.
How many trucks have you purchased in the last 29 years? I’ll bet it’s not been 18.
I think my experience with trucks of all brand gives me credit.
Nothing wrong with you guys liking your Toyota's, it's your prerogative...
But in the meantime, as the major profits from these import sales go over seas,
take your asses with it ! This country doesn't need this crap... and don't give
me the line about "They're built here and support families here"... because we
can fill these factories with American goods...
I'd buy 3 raggedy ass Chevrolet's before ANY foreign country EVER saw my
dollar from me buying one of their vehicles... BELIEVE THAT !
And hey, while you're driving your SUPERMAN Tundra to a port in California,
why don't you stop at a BP station and fill up, too, while you're at it...:nonono:
LOL!!! So what exactly does a truck look like that has 10,000#'s in the bed??? And like what was already mentioned, you are either a liar or did not have an '07> Tundra. 500 pounds would not even lower the springs an inch and I'll bet you on it.
BTW, before throwing in the "ignorant" card, the correct word would be you're not "your".
Curious as to why you would have bought a Toyota if the the Fords since 2001 have given you no problems??? Your story is one of many. I can surf the web and find many a GM fan with the opposite story of yours. Heck, there are people out there that swear by Dodge!!!
Hmmmm...........Guess I was correct: 4 Fords since 2001 and 14 other trucks before that. The newest Tundra you could have had would have been a 2000; that is if you even owned one.
If you insist that 500#'s made an '07 or newer Tundra barely drivable, than your "credit" means squat. (but we've already established you didn't own one);-)
