Yea i agree with you guys on here about trying them all out. HOWEVER, if i had the money to throw away at several different tuners I would. But unfortunately I am a 21 year old student who works at auto zone lol. I did my researching around on other forums but decided to post a thread on who people on here thought gave the most bang for your buck. I would go to certain tuners based up on what vehicle I had. For instance, for my 04 termi, I would go with rick from amazon since I read on almost every forum that he can tune the hell out of those. For the coyote, I read that Shaun pretty much has the end all be all tunes for the copperhead. I also feel a bit safer knowing I have to data log the info and send it to him since I just got the car and don't want anything to go wrong. Especially since I live in Texas and the weather changes about every other week and I would like my car to run consistently all year around. Everyone is going to have their own opinion for sure on who they think is the best.

Rick has the rep he does with the 03/04 Cobras because he was one of the first tuners to specialize with them. That gives him years of experience with them.

He can also tune the hell out of the Coyote platform for the same reason. Years of experience with them.

He has years of experience with all platforms of Ford performance vehicles. Period.

The one and only point that I want to make to you is to not limit yourself while making your choice. Talk to more than just one tuner. You will have all the info that you need to make a decision. I am not the only person making this suggestion to you. Others have also.

I have no intention of doing this but just checked this capability. Why can I ignore Shaun, but not Linn? Some difference in what "vendors" get here?

I'm sure there is. I don't have all that info but as you see, some have banners and some don't, some have their own section and some don't.

In this paticular case I'd have to guess because ATS has it's own section they have some Mod capabilities in there and the system list them as vendors/staff due to that.

I know the rest of the staff cannot be put on ignore.

That is my best guess.

Well heck while we are here why dont we look at some of the key parameters in the tunes and figure out who is taking the car where with what basic parameters.

who has 0.82 lambda (Steeda for me) and 0.85 (Bama).
Who has knock sensing over 5 (initial tunes from Steeda and Bama) - now down to zero :)
Who goes rich to save cats at high rpm (only Bama told me about this)

What is the commanded lambda max ideal for our motors? i drove around at 0.89 on the wrong tune for a while, it was fast too but it turned on the engine code for lean.

Does anyone actaully change ignition timing? i think they leave that alone.

Do they all mess with cam timing? probably..

Was this directed towards me?
FYI, the Copperhead ECU has been out since 2010 model year, and we've been working with them since they came out. Our first Coyote tune may have been a few months behind Amazon, but certainly NOT just a few months ago. It took 3-4 months from Dealer introduction to get our first one on the dyno for tuning and I waited a year before buying one for myself. (so what?)

Are you going to offer the OP Free tuning for life like last time? :bored:

This post right here is what has earned my tuning dollars, after that fiasco in that other thread. I am not ready to void my warranty as yet, but when I am, it'll be Shaun I'm calling.

I like the fact that he doesn't push his product all over the forums and let's word of mouth do the advertising.
Technically speaking I've already voided my warranty by switching to Mobile1 5w30 oil. Next on the list is a tune by AED. Life's too short for me to wait for the warranty to expire.

I lOVE your reasoning behind getting a tune....LOLOL. I'll bet you had to use that one on the wife. I know I would. Shit, I have said it before I have to launder money out of my own bank account for mods so she doesnt see it.

As someone who had BBR and is now AED tuned, well let's just say that you should try out other tuners. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Absolutely. I followed his posts for months, watching every update he posted each time he went to the track. Word of mouth + Results + customer service won me over. And I couldn't be any happier.

what is done to your car? and was there any performance gains?
Mods are in my sig...pretty limited actually. 3.73s, Offroad H and K&N drop in filter. I'm about to add a GT500 catback. The BBR felt good - much better than stock. And as good as BBR felt over stock, AED feels that much better over BBR. Haven't actually dynoed it, but I have compared it against some of my friends cars that I've raced previously. Monster difference.

I don't see what the point of this thread is, when 99% of the responses are going to be biased...

Agreed, but I have the same/similar tune as the rest of Shaun's customers who have track proof. The only proof I have is that I can pull away from friend's cars now that previously I used to run door to door with or they were faster than me. So something is different and it isn't my driving. I probably won't ever go to the track/dyno. I have no intention of investing $1k in a slicks/big n littles setup. I don't need that though for ME to be happier with the AED tune. When I had the BBR tune, sure, the fun was car to drive, but I also have a jeep as a daily driver that I kind split driving duties 50/50. Ever since Shaun's tune, it's been more like 80/20. I can't wait to drive my car every day. If someone in DFW wants to lend me slicks for a night, I"ll gladly go and make some passes on the BBR tune and the AED tune for your viewing pleasure.
