So how come the Mach didn't make it into the SVT group?

One thing I really liked about the Mach 1s and also the Bullit was that they had Cobra 13" brakes and both had similar spring rates as well, making them quite a bit better than the average GT, at least in my mind.

But what would I know?:p

haha exactly, I agree 100%

buuuuuuut if you ask some of these geniuses......it's just a gt with a shaker:bash:

I think many of us are guilty of getting just a little bit too caught up in the automotive one-ups-man-ship that is so pervasive in the car guy community.

It's pretty easy to do and sometimes not even realize how freaking ridiculous you've allowed things get.

I've definitely mellowed a bit and adjusted my perspective some since my brush with near TERMINATION.:-D (IE: liver transplant)

Hahaha...I know man! I've seen some of the stupidest posts on here before about things that people just pulled out of the air without any supporting facts backing them up

A lot of what gets posted in the forums is what has been seen on other forums. If we required a members to "source" their post there would be far less disinformation...but then there would be no oen to bash:bash:

Ford SVT Focus - First Drive Review - Car Reviews - Car and Driver

I love my high mile used 04 SVT Focus! I am plugging a right front axle in it tonight so I can re-assign it to daily driver duty, this freaking Terminator is way too thirsty and it's going to get me arrested! LOL!

I've seen some people on youtube acting like machs ARE pretty much gts...like there is very little difference in performance and all it takes is an intake and a catback on a 2v to beat a mach??? that's just plain stupid...as are a lot of comments. I like my mach because they didn't make a whole lot and it's cool in it's own way. there isn't anything "special" about it per se...but you don't seem em on every block like you do 2v GTs and they will walk a 2v GT badly with equal drivers. yeah when you start throwing tons of power at them neither are going to handle more than 450 hp safely...but that's not the point. not everyone has a majorly built ride...some roll with bolt - ons and in that case the mach is superier to a GT even tho it does look similar on the outside. As for the SVT focus comment that was just dumb where do you guys live under a rock? my best friend has a red 02 svt focus...it's a 6 speed but definately nothing special. I do like the car a whole lot and wouldn't mind owning one myself for a DD. at the end of the day we all just need to calm down and have some respect for all rides....have a nice day

Mach 1 owners do not suffer identity crises as Cobra Mustang owners. Our cars are simply the most unique and best looking new edge Mustangs ever built complete with factory "R" VINs.

Mach 1 owners spend lots of time fielding questions and compliments while Cobra Mustang owners go unnoticed because their cars look so much like V6s. Yelling, "It's not a GT, it's a Termi!!!" doesn't seem to help. Neither does installing $5,000 wheels with tractor-sized tires. It's still a Mustang that looks just like the cheapest secretary model. And, it's not even a real Cobra. Real Cobras were English roadsters with Shelby installed drive trains.

Price did not determine my choice of Mustang. By 2004 no adult wanted to be associated with the Cobra Mustang crowd.

So what? Why do you give a shit?

SVTPerformance Rules said:
12. Bringing old threads and polls back to the top is prohibited. The definition of “old” will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the SVTP staff. If you can not reasonably infer what constitutes an “old thread” ask a moderator.

Really dont understand your logic and why your putting down the cobra. Im a mustang enthusiast, not mach 1 guy or a cobra guy. At the end of the day they are both mustangs. Both the mach and cobra are dead sexy cars. But imo the cobra has a lot cleaner and meaner look. I dont usually mistake a V6 for a cobra, and appearance wise the mach 1 is just a hood, grill, and spoiler the same color as car away from being a gt, and the wheels on the mach are about fugly as hell.

My reasons and logic are clearly defined in the post you quoted. I couldn't possibly have used simpler language.

My Mach 1 has aftermarket wheels.:rolling:

What's really humorous.....the Mach 1 looks more like a V6 than the 2003-2004 Cobra Terminator. :lol1:

Thank you so much for illustrating my point. The Mach 1 shaker/hood is the most visible model specific part on any new edge Mustang. (How can you sell oil and ship the right weight when you're blind? Ihad no idea Amsoil comes in Braille bottles!)

Besides the shaker hood, what is different body wise from a v6/GT?

The only other thing I can think of is the grill delete.
