You should be able to squeeze out 118-120mph traps out of your stock Ls3... Good luck and let us know how it goes...

Really? That seems a little much for this car. I was hoping for 116 just to match what I had. But more would be better!! Im not going to run a DR until I have had some seat time with the stockers. But I want another street run with a 5.0. I would like to do a mutual 2nd gear roll to see what happens.

Thats what Im thinking too. The car pulled very hard and we were trading bumpers for the lead on every shift. His car would pull me, then he would drop back on the shift and I would pull a bumper. Then it would even out when I shifted. I was VERY surprised to say the least. I dont know what happened, but my vette truly feels faster than the 5.0 I had. The true test will be at the track to see what mph I can run. My best in the mustang was 116.98 which is basicly 117. I think stock LS3 vettes are good for 115-116 but we will see. Either way, Im not butthurt. That was super fun last night, and my car has a shit-ton of mods I can pickup for less than $1k that will take this car to a full bolton 5.0 status. And if I can do it myself, I can save a ton on the cam and get the car to the high 400's at the tire. At this car's weight, it will be a monster making 475 at the tire. Thats more than stock Z06's make. Time will see where I can go with it. The bank account(and wife) are still bitter about the vette pruchase.....lol Its going to be next spring before I will be "allowed" to get more for my car than just tints and a car wash....... Gotta love being married!!
hide your money in a secret place, ive started doing that and some how ive managed to save quite a bit. When they think you have money they want to buy stuff, just keep stashing it away and acting broke :D

Lol yeah. The only real issue I have with the corvette is the "corvette tax". The CAI's are $500 and the axle backs(same setup as the mustang) are $1000. Luckily though this car only has 1 cam, and I can get one of those for $400. And if I can install it, then I will be good for some big cheap power with one. And headers are gonna run $1600 for a nice set. But yeah I guess its time to start laundering money from my own account again....LOLOL But I think the wife got wise. I work from home now and have no need to "spend money" on lunch and gas anymore. So If I hit the ATM and take cash out every day again, she would be like where the **** are you spending that cash at??

you got to do it in nimbles, 100 here, 50 there, 500 here. Or have your work deposit a percentage of money into another account ;) then she'll never know really how much is going anywhere

I ran 2 full bolt on grand sports, one auto and one manual. Both had long tubes back, intake, and dyno tuned. My car is a 12 5.0 with intake, intake manifold, o/r x pipe and dyno tune. I put down 434rwhp and 372rwtq. I got the auto by about half a car from 40-150, and the manual pulled me by 1-2 cars from 40-150ish. Just sharing my experiences.

When I was married back in he day I bought a new set of rims and tires. Told her my daddy bought them for me. Easy to hide money from the women. I did it all the time

I think my first mod is going to be a tune. This car I got was a used 11, but its a certified preowned car so it comes with a 4/48 full bumper to bumper GM warranty. Im reluctant to start modding because I really dont want to be responsible for paying to fix stuff. But that mod bug is hitting me HARD since last night. Before last night, I was convinced that this C6 would wipe a 5.0 out on the street. But now, sadly, I need mods to accomplish this...LOL.

hahaha already got the mod bug? My dad had a 2006 vette and that thing drove like a dream. It had more than enough power for me at the time but I am sure it would only be a matter of time before I wanted more.

The vettes are definitely great cars. I didnt even get a chance to consider one cause I need a backseat.

And just for the record, if a topic such as this were posted on Corvette Forum there would be nothing but childish Mustang bashing going on. I'm very pleased to see that there are open-minded, true car enthusiasts on this site. Great crowd over here.

Im still shocked he didn't own the 5.0 in that race, anything with 3300lbs and a LS3 shouldn't be over looked or even a thought to race unless modded up

Im with ya on that one. But I have a sneaking feeling that there were quite a few mods under that hood. Had to be tuned/CAI and 3.73s. From that I dont know. Still shouldnt have been that close of a race though. But I have spent the morning pricing out cams and headers packages so, either way I will be a force to be reckoned with. Just wait. These LS3 cars with Cam, headers and tune make sick power.
