Ammunition magazines would be restricted to seven bullets, from the current 10, and current owners of higher-capacity magazines would have a year to sell them out of state. An owner caught at home with eight or more bullets in a magazine could face a misdemeanor charge.

This is for all rifles, semi-auto, bolt action etc; or just 'assault rifles'?

Surrounded by libetards.
There are more people killed with knives/cutting weapons, blunt objects and by hand.

Care to elaborate? There is a difference between an accidental death and voluntary... a person walking and slipping and falling on something an dying isn't even comparable to someone getting shot with a gun. What other things around a house are used to kill someone and range in the 8k year figure for deaths (murder not gun related)?

Guns are built with the intent to inflict damage, how many time does that need to be said. So they should be handled with care at all times so forgetting them or leaving them in places out of your watch unlocked and available to anyone, yes you should be held accountable. Locking a gun inside of a car is EXTREMELY stupid. If you are honestly this careless you shouldn't even own a gun. I didn't say you weren't allowed to carry a gun or have it out of a safe. Reread... I said you should have it locked away WHEN YOU ARE NOT with it.

The fact is, you have your views and I have mine. At the end of the day neither will mater because we don't make the choices. However, I am not going to turn my head to the fact that we DO have issues with gun control, however I don't agree with banning them. That is just an easy solution to avoid taking time to fix the real issues. If you truly don't believe that gun theft isn't part of the issue then I guess there is NO HOPE.

I know where im at it's a lot of drug/crime related murder stuff. They kill each other.

That doesnt bother me one bit.

Can we have figures on people who are murdered that have criminal past?

Doesn't everyone feel safer now that criminals can only have 8 rounds in a gun? I know I'll sleep better tonight with this fact in mind.

Not sure if this has been discussed in the thread yet....But how about taking less than 1 day to vote and put this law into effect. The public never saw any of this; hell most senators didn't even get a chance to read it! This is tyranny at its finest; and Cuomo and Bloomberg are at the forefront of it.

I just hope I can get a job down south before this shit hits NJ!

What's even more sad is that I can't say what I really want to say without being flagged by the government for it. So not only is our 2a rights being infringed on but in many ways so are out 1a rights.

the bill is also reported to ban magazines larger than 7 rounds, yes 7, because obviously their 10 round limit just wasn't working.

P.S. New York City and most people I meet from there need to just seclude themselves on that island. They have destroyed the rights of those up north. I hope you all vote the entire senate out. I heard it was mostly GOP controlled, anyone know for sure?

Hear Hear, the dumb****s on the island and city control the rest of us! Its not like they live a completely different lifestyle... oh, wait.

How long until this law is challenged in the NYS Supreme Court?

My question also. I feel like they did this fast to prevent anyone from getting firearms knowing it will go to the supreme court level. I find it quite interesting they were able to do thos soo fast, but when it comes to other issues it takes a year and a day.
