Bad vid but a4 with exhaust and a filter vs exhaust, tune intake 01 with stock gears and a bolt on Mach.

Check out this video on YouTube:

02 Camaro SS vs 01 Cobra & 03 Mach 1 - YouTube

The 01 loses by a car but the Mach wins. The 01 couldn't launch well.

The op has more mods like 4.10's and 315's, while he'll be racing a stock a4. The a4 in this vid has about 15-25whp more than stock give or take with exhaust and k&n filter. It could just be me but I think the cobra had more in it with better shifts at higher rpm

So there is a 01 Cobra with mods losing to a A4 LS1 by a car or more. Do you realize what a carlength is in the 1/4? It's about .5

Now the Mach 1 SLIGHTLY pulls the A4 LS1. So we can assume the Mach vs the Cobra would be 1.5-2 cars.

BUT you say that stock for stock a Mach 1 vs a 01 Cobra is .1-.2 in the 1/4. How do you explain something like this video if that is true?

Seems more like I was right by saying a 01 Cobra average is a high 13 second car and that LS1 and Mach 1 are more like mid to low 13 second cars.

I do believe Formula's are lighter and rarer, maybe they're more powerful. I really don't know the minor differences between trims but I'm almost positive the Formula is a step above the WS6 in terms of performance.

Watch the vid and read what I posted, bored.

The op's racing an unmodded stock a4. The cobra in this vid wasn't driven great and it doesn't have gears.

My point is the op will have an easy win if he can drive. This a4 had 15-25whp more than a stocker and with the cobra not getting a great launch or great shifts, it only pulled 1 car.

Hey stop sign, did you watch the z28 vs 99 video like I talked about right under that vid? I'll make it easier by putting the link up. This 99 has less mods than the op's car. Go ahead and spin this how you want.

Check out this video on YouTube:

Anyways all told, the op has an easy win if he can drive. 1-2 cars if he launches well and powershifts.

With a car in that power level 1 car is about .5 in the 1/4. I've been to the track once or twice.

You've been to the track once or twice... :rollseyes

Ever been to elementary school? :lol1:

At that power level, 1 car length = 0.1 second.

Remember the adjustment formulas:
Inside the car, winning=feels like you got 10 cars on a 1 car lead

Inside the car, losing= feels like you're at his rear bumper when 5 cars behind

Outside the car on either= doesn't look like that much a gain or loss, just awesome sounding.

Stopsign here has a Mach. He's used to losing

Follow me here...

The Bullitt took a cat-back only M6 LS1 by a car before the LS1 removed the cats, then fell to two cars back when the LS1 removed the cats.

The Mach 1 pulled about two or three cars on the Bullitt before the Bullitt let out. So by my math that Mach 1 wouldn't pull but a car max, all things equal, on the same LS1.

But that Mach had a JLT, O/R X, a straight-through cat-back, 65mm T/B, AND a tune! Not to mention it's a stronger car stock for stock and mod for mod than an '01 Cobra...

So did we pretty much answer our own question?

How do you figure that?

It's called math.

At "that power level", you're looking at ~105mph cars.

105mph = 154ft/s

0.1 second at that speed is 15.4ft

A car length is ~15ft

Edit: If your 1/4 mile experience tells you that 0.5 second is roughly 1 car length, your little pony needs more power... 10mph traps ain't cuttin it :kaboom:

When I was bolt ons in my 99 Cobra I ran 13.5 to a LT1's 13.1 and I was around 1 length behind. Last time at the track I ran 12.5 vs a LS1's 13.1 and I was about 1 ahead. So you are saying my 12.5 to the LS1's 13.1 would be around 5-6 car's?

Loving and owning both Mustangs and Camaros so no homer.

You're going to get smashed. Gears will help you keep it close for about an 1/8 then you will get walked. The auto only helps him because it will make his launch and shifting idiot proof. Come on homers a "drivers race" please a stock Terminator vs 98-02 SS would be a drivers race.

sorry man...I've been reading this whole thread and I had to call bs on this post. 03-04 cobra drivers race with 98-02 ss? you're CRAZY son....since everyone else here is basing times off of "hero" runs I will as well. the best hero runs i've seen for 03 cobras is something like 12.3ish....best I've seen from an m6 02 ss putting down 322 rwhp bone stock was a 12.8...both done by evan j smith. that'sw a half a second and it was several mpg different on the trap speed. that is NOT a driver's race by any stretch. If that's a drivers race then so is a 93 4 cyliner stang and an ls1...if they ls1 driver REALLY REALLY REALLY sucks and don't know how to shift out of first at WOT then the 4 banger will WALK HIM....right? that was a stupid comment and I had to call it out. The cars in question are a BONE STOCK (supposedly) a4 ls1 z28 vs an 01 cobra that has a cold air intake, catback, 4.10s, and before the race happens will have an offroad mid pipe and tune. both drivers being equal the cobra should pull the ls1 no question. that's easily 15 rwhp worth of mods if not more...yall are definately seling the mods short as far as numbers. It would be a fairly close race one way or the other if they were both stock...but the cobra in question is probably several 10ths quicker than a stock 01 cobra..the gears alone will do that. 4.10s really wake up 4vs....if the cobra has a half way decent launch and he shifts fast at 7 he will have NO problem with a stock a4 ls1....end of story...
