Is it a good idea to install one on the driver side also, or is most of the ingested oil from the passenger side valve cover?

Billet style separator with the logo is OEM quality.
Connectors are a Motorcraft part.(clip on connectors are identical to the ones you take off) You simply screw in both threaded sides of the
connectors, PCV side and intake side, then clip on both ends...simple.
I noticed in the pics on some of the JLT seperators the nut on the connectors are flush. You can see a couple of threads left on both sides of the connectors
on this Shelby separator.
Once tight, I had to slightly twist the PCV side so it would line up with the outlet.
It has OEM crush clips on the hoses, but you can twist the hose slightly
to line up etc.
50 miles...no leaks, a few drops of oil.

Mind telling us how much it cost in total? Hoses, shipping and separator?

Can someone tell me WHY anyone would by this product when it's been proven that Bob's seperator works better?

Not being a dick- I really want to know

Well until the testing today, nobody was really positive about the Shelby unit, as it was new.

But here is some testing for everyone's info.
Final test results are Bob's>JLT>Shelby So if you really want that clip in style, I recommend you go with JLT!

But, the Shelby version has a cool logo on it... Isn't that worth lesser performance? :poke:

Like I said previously, I have ZERO regrets with my Bob's unit.

Bob's separator has always been somewhat more effective than the JLT unit. It is a better designed separator, but I am using a passenger side, modified JLT for several reason:

1. 10 sec on/off for inspection, cleaning, modifying
2. Replaces OEM PCV tube exactly, using OEM connectors
3. Nothing to mount off engine next to a hot exhaust manifold
4. I keep my OEM tube in my trunk for simple & quick emergency replacement
5. No need to chase down or cannibalize for OEM connectors for Bob's unit

That's why I have the JLT as well... I had a sort of conversation with the Bob's guy about including factory connectors that would make his unit plug and play but I guess they aren't going to do that.

I would bet their sales would go up significantly if it were plug and play like the JLT... oh well

It isn't that I'm not listening, its I think of you guys & cost. (Also note, you guys made mention a month ago to start using Permatex thread sealer, it's now on every unit)

I can't get ford parts cheaper, or even at the same price as Tousley, so if I was to buy from them, I be selling them more expensive as I need to add freight from them to me into the equation, and add in for dealer margins, etc.

I am an OEM parts horder too, and that stuff sits around garage for years, and eventually it just goes in the trash. When would you ever need your stock one again? lol, and if you did, it's cheap and available from your local ford dealer. I just don't want to up my cost (probably $20+) when most don't want it. Perhaps as an option, but it's honestly cheaper for you to buy on your own! That is why I haven't done it.

And if you think it's hard to remove fittings, check out 3:40 into this video :

Yeah no I'm not saying it's hard to remove them, I'm saying it's just a convenience thing.

If you had the option to have the factory connectors pre-installed then cost would only go up for those people that wanted that.

Same as the "Ultimate" kit being more with the braided hoses etc.

Just saying it would be a nice option to be plug and play.

Oh also as for why anyone would want to go back to stock... most people don't keep their cars forever so they would want to either transfer the separator to their new car or sell it to recoup some money after they sell it.

Also a lot of buyers would want the stock hose in place anyway because a lot of buyers want the car to be completely stock.

Wait why did you put the thread sealer? Also what happens if we have a separator without this permatex thread sealer?

I'm having a hard time figuring this out. If the SPP piece is an exact copy? why is it JLT one a better performer? Since they trap oil differently doesn't that mean they are different? I understand that the outside is similar but the internals are different. Isn't that the thing that matters?
