Much appreciated 04Saleen281 - will be interesting to see what he's got. I also know of another turbo R F/S, but it was a major engine swap so not sure about that one.

Can anyone tell me what an '00 R "Salvage title" car might be worth? I hear this one might be for sale soon.

On a car that has been repaired so well that the damage is not discernable, normally 20-30%. On very low production...it might only be 10-20%. What the bottom of the car looks like will tell the tale.

It is interesting that the intangibles about any particular salvage car can greatly affect the discount and/or selling price.

No bondo on entire car. Put a new 1/4 panel and outter wheel house, new head lamps, used front bumper ($600 - more than the 1/4 was lol), new header panel.

I repainted the entire car, doors off, all the jambs, inside the trunk ect. All Glasurit paint w/ 3 coats of clear - wet sanded with 1000 and mirror polished. All body work was done by SCC who does all Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini & Ferrari work on the west side. Paint is beautiful. Went on a frame machine and all was square. Car was declared a "Total due to structural damage" - YES - When a car needs a new Quarter Panel & Outter wheel-house, it is considered to be a Structural component since it is welded / bonded to the car (not a bolt-on piece). "Structural" does not only mean frame/unibody.

Front splitter was previously repair - looks like several times as it was FULL of bondo! We tore all of it our and fixed it with fiberglass sheeting and epoxy. Then went to Big track @ willow springs and the Dzus fastners ripped out so we fixed it again, filled the little rivet hols and converted it over to Bolt/Nut as I planend on tracking the car alot - I've already put 2K+ Miles on it in the last year.

The pics from C&C afew months ago is when the car was fresh out of the spray booth, with an unpainted splitter and 110% unpolished paint. Car looks completely different now.

The 1 thing I havent fixed is the edge of the right front rim is bent over, but I am afraid to try and have fixed (it might break). It holds air and is perfectly balanced....I have been 170mph in the car and it holds true.

There is no mention of the car being totaled and its repair. What did you do to the motor that Ford didn't do? If this was my car I would be upfront about its history. Good luck with the sale...

Agreed. Even with the damage history, there will be a strong market for the car. However, best to alert buyers beforehand.

The ad does state salvage. I'm sure anyone seriously interested with the salvage title will call to have a conversation on the car.

Oops.. They redesigned craigslist since the last time I was on it. I take back my part on the salvage title but I would still like to know what you did to build the motor.

Looks good.... I don't think a salvaged car is worth $32,500 though.

$32500 is too far from what I could pay for R165 since it was totalled. Although the paint probably looks better now.

I bought 253 last year with 5k original miles for less than that. But the CA market may be stronger for these cars, I dunno. Not trying to be a negative Nancy, just trying to give feedback based on a comparable sale.
