Just another douche in a slow car

I was out on an outing with my two boys last Saturday. We were taking trip to the coast and going to drive Highway 1 from Santa Cruz to San Francisco. You know having one of those father and sons days on the road. I was driving thru this nice winding stretch of 4 lane road called Pacheco Pass, when I started pulling up to this Toyota Camry in the fast lane. I am easing up behind him slowing down so I don't tailgate him. I hate it when people do it to me, so I don't do it to them. I eased to approx., I would say no closer than about 3 and 1/2 car lengths. As I sit behind him, we are doing about 70. I can see him checking me out in the rear view mirror. then I see his wife and child looking over their shoulder in my direction. I stay behind him about a half mile or so and decide I was going to just go around him. Since he showed no sign of doing the right thing and moving to allow me to speed back up. Now when I move over to the other lane there is plenty of room to pass without having to flooring the car. So I am easing up along side of him and just as I pull even he jumps on it. He trying to squeeze me out behind a semi, which would leave me stuck behind him with a bunch of slower traffic a couple of miles. So, I speed up, but don't down shift. I easily accelerate pass him and when I am clear I move back in the fast lane. As I pull up to the semi, I look in my rear view mirror and he is all up my rear. And both him and his wife are flipping me off and making all kinds of obscene gestures. He is even gesturing for me to pull over so we can have a personal conversation together. He rides behind my a$$ for about a mile gesturing until I find an open pocket of traffic. I place my hand out the window, wave good-bye, then downshift to 4th and leave his stupid a$$ and dumber wife behind. I imagine he was really frustrated with my disappearing act. I don't understand people that create their own road rage by trying to regulate other people for no good reason. And to act an a$$ like that with his daughter and wife, trying to challenge me to a roadside brawl. In a fight you never know, but, I am not a small guy by any means and I could see I had at least a good 60-70lbs on this guy. Also add to the fact I can legally carry a gun, JUST STUPID. Another DOUCHE with a small penis trying to feel big......

Happens Countless times on Houston Freeways. I'm in left lane with Cruise control on, and approaching someone going slow. Go around, get back in left lane, and you see them flipping out and yelling and they go to whip back around you ... irritating.

Sounds like this crap happens all over the country. I can't tell you how many times I've been in the left hand lane driving, where someone is cruising along at, or slightly under the speed limit in front of me, and will not move over. These kind tend to floor the throttle when I try to pass them on the right, in an attempt to stop me from passing. I'm not typically a tailgater, but will follow someone about 3-4 car lengths behind and give them ample time to move to the right lane ( sometimes even two right lanes on a three lane highway ) before passing them on the right. If its not the other driver flooring it, its them speeding up another 10-15mph -after- I pass them to ride my tail... Absolutely moronic and a great way to cause accidents or get someone killed.

This type of bs is becoming more frequent by me as well. Really wish they'd pass more slow poke/left lane laws like they have in Georgia and Texas.

You are polite sir. I also hate when people tailgate me. They love to get within an inch of your bumper and shove their little wet doggy nose right up your ass crack. Doesn't matter if you're in a 70 mph zone or a 30 mph zone.

The best response is exactly what you did. Use your ample horsepower to humiliate and leave them in the dust.

I've gotten this a few times lately on the way home, one lady tried brake checking me when I was 5-6 cars back. when she stabbed the brakes I had enough time to signal and move over to the right lane and pass her, when I got along side her she started ranting a raving so I just pulled away nice and easy without ever downshifting from 6th.

I know that road exactly OP, I honestly would have been a dick and pulled along side and did a cry more gesture. I hate people who drive slow in the fast lane.

Also guy is stupid, you never know who is carrying these days. Maybe he had a gun and wanted to bait you and claim defense for his family. Lol, camry stay in your lane!!!

What a POS. Hate when people pull that shit, I've had it on local freeways as well as long highway stretches. They're usually in a POS box without enough power to box you out.

Been through the Pachecho Pass quite a few times, it's a fun little stretch of highway. :burnout:

Been in this situation countless times as well. Sometimes what I like to do is just coast down to a slower speed than what the other driver was doing to begin with. (I won't brake check anyone in the cobra) Then when they are properly annoyed, and have a chance to pass you punch it... Not a damn thing little miss be-atch and her Lexus can do about it. Lol

Hate tailgaters what I find works best (really well on convertibles). Put wipers on high and spray the hell out of the washer fluid. Every time I clean my windshield my wife looks behind us. If someone wants to get by I let them but if I'm just stuck in traffic the get the spray .

Are you saying someone caught up to you and you wouldn't move over, slowed down, and then punched so they couldn't pass you? Sounds like you're the type person we're all bitching about. Did I miss something?

Seems like people driving slowly in the fast lane and not moving over are getting more and more common. When they don't move, I just pass them. I don't think most people realize how quickly I can get around them. The people who really bother me are fast cars that drive slow in the fast lane and hold up tons of cars by not moving over. I wonder how they felt when I went around them without fully leaving the lane.

i do this same thing, come roaring past them at 5k or so. O/R X on stock cobra manifolds will wake you up.

They normally move over after that

MovingZen read it again the guy in the Camary was moving slow he went to pass him and the guy tried to speed up then and put him behind a truck as the lane was merging the op sped past him and passed the truck and the camry kept his foot in it until he was tailgating the OP telling him to pull over giving the bird etc. OP Waved and left him. WTF are you reading and do you own a Camry?

Or you could not drive like a moron and just get out of the way, or maintain your speed and let them pass.
