I wear a pair of these. They're not as glossy/dressy as the picture shows and once they wear in they have a nice soft leather look. It took a few days to break them in but the backs are soft and comfortable.

They look good with a pair of designer jeans and a t-shirt, a button up, or dress clothes. They don't fit as well with plain jeans live Levis.

wheat timbs and a yankee fitted!

Are you secretly a lesbian?

LOL!! no, just a man who's capable of doing more than picking out what's in the dryer. I enjoy it.

Def think more people need to pay mind to what they wear. You see some sloppy looking dudes. Don't get me started on suits. A good tailor should be a must in every man's contact list. Nothing worse than wearing a suit that doesn't fit properly. Might as well wear a tank top and cargo shorts lol. Little effort goes a long. some people genuinely like those orthopedic looking shoes. LOL.

obviously we all have different taste.

Yea, I can see alot of the shoes you guys are mentioning in nursing homes.
Today I have on allen edmonds chukka boots. They are handmade in America. They feature goodyear welting and the ability to recraft your shoes throughout its lifetime. People have worn allen edmonds for over twenty years and they still look new.
you might consider this op

I like your style. I'm a notch down in terms of spending, and really only wear J&M's (both dress shoes and casual). Wearing these today (in black calfskin): https://www.johnstonmurphy.com/conard-cap-toe /9488.html

Only if you want to make the sheep nervous ;-)

But the OP was:

"I'm looking for a nice, comfortable pair of shoes that can be casually worn out to dinner, out for drinks, etc and can easily pair with both jeans and dress pants."

Shorts were not mentioned

Maybe he wears jhorts?

edit: lol jhorts.

I've bought 5-6 pair of Johnson & Murphy casual and dress shoes over the past couple of years. Very comfortable. Well made. Nice styles. Their boat shoes are the only boat shoes I've ever owned that are comfortable to wear when walking for longer periods of time.

These in black. Bunch of us here have them and wear them with Jeans and with nice dress pants. Also very comfortable. I think I paid like $40 for mine:

Sketchers aren't bad, but hoping to find something a little more dressier.

Steve Madden makes great shoes for the money....under $100 easy. I can afford more expensive shoes but I wear them everyday for work so it's not worth it for me especially with the northeastern winters.

I like some of those, thanks for posting.

Bought some Under Armor new releases and have never had a pair of shoes so comfy. I'm new to shoes tho, it's always been BOOT > flipflip > boot > flipflop.

That is all I have right now, boots, flip flops and an old pair of running shoes.

Would love to see the OP in a set of 3" heals...

I can still pull Aiken ass in 3" heels.

I have a pair of these Dockers shoes in black. Very comfy and go with just about everything. I think I spent about $40-$50 on them at Sears.

I also have a real nice pair of Sperrys in brown that I wear a lot, but I got those as a gift and I think they are well above the $100 range.

Not to shabby. I like.

After wearing a pair of Air Force 1 Mids until the bottoms looked like drag slicks, I find it hard to purchase any other shoe. They are long lasting and the all black pair goes great with Khakis at work. They are cut kind of narrow so if you have wide feat, they may take some getting used too. I'm a bigger guy and I make them work.

Lol, just lol.

omg...some of you guys have some interesting taste in shoes. And i think i saw some sketchers up there? really?

The guy above me linked black AF1s....really? lol Don't get me wrong, i always keep a few pairs of white on white midtops, but i def would not wear them to dinner/drinks. C'mon guys. A little effort goes a long way.

Recommending shoes is tough because it all matters on your style. Plus, Brown is the new black. lol

but from the sounds of it, a clean pair of Boat shoes/loafers will be perfect. In that price range, i would recommend Cole Haan. Excellent quality and the leather is always top notch.

Big list of shoes which cover that middle ground you are looking for. Don't limit yourself to just black, because brown and camel can fit the role of black with the right watch/belt. I wouldn't wear these on a suit, unless it's a casual sportscoat/blazer with jeans.

Something a little dressier, that will work with just about everything including jeans. again, you have the option for black or the light brown.

Me personally, i'm a big fan of Ferragamos, but they are priced a little higher than the $100 range. Cole Haan can be had around the $100 range on sale. Have to keep an eye out for them.

For brands that will be around that price range or less. Stacy Adams and Alfani are your best bets. you can find Oxfords for $60-$100 easy. The leather on them are much stiffer, but still a great show overall. For Boat shoes in that price range, i would recommend Sperry, Sebago, Polo and Tommy H. Easily can be found under $100. macy's is the best spot for these brands.

Great post, very informative and helpful. Thanks!

Move to Florida and enjoy wearing fiip floppies everywhere.

Best inventions ever.

One day... one day.

All I can think of is hipster... so sorry, no.

I have boots. Not looking for work boots. Thanks though.

Thanks for all the posts. I definitely have a great starting point.

A new pair of brown patent crocs with an open toe and stacked 3 inch heel. :) I don't know how comfy they'll be in a few hours.

Very nice! Today, it's knee high Calvin Kline boots in tan suede with a 3" cowboy heel. Finally boot weather here!

I actually like the men's Sketchers "dressy" shoes for casual dinner type occasions, nothing wrong with them. Neat styling, comfortable (from what I've heard) and versatile. They're a logical choice.

Cole Haan - but its out of your mentioned budget. For the money though, they will last years.

Find an outlet. I just bought some Cole Haan boots for 50% off plus $50 off with the outlet mall coupon. Spent about $150 IIRC...the men's shoes probably would have been close enough to the $100 mark to make it worthwhile.

.

Sketchers are cheaply made shoes and most of them are kinda goofy looking, but that's all a matter of taste. Sketchers copy the trend of other brands instead of excelling in their own style. I'm sure there are some that are decently comfort, but i feel like there are other brands that have much better materials, build quality and comfort that can be had for around the same price (sales). Again it's all personal preference.

My office shoes for today.....

air_max_2014_men_black_green.jpg

HAHAHHAHA......i'm exhausted and a white vneck T shirt w/ shorts and comfy shoes sounded great. Couldn't talk myself into my normal office attire. Casual Wednesday for me. Maybe not the best choice as windy as it is in Houston atm. lol.

Find the local office and turn in your man card. EDIT...I meant to quote the OP of those turrible shoes.

Why? They look like old lady shoes to me.

LOL!!! hey now....those are great vacation shoes. Short sleeve button up, linen pants and those shoes.....oh yea. Looking at those shoes makes me want to take an Island vacation lol!

gotta remember.....there are shoes for different occasions. i prefer being prepared
